There's a good game in here, really fun deckbuilding tactical game with progression elements from what I could see. Unfortunately, it is buried beneath way too much talking and insufferable Joss Whedon style writing I could not stomach more than two hours of this game to see how things pan out. Opening this game up trapped with Captain Marvel, Iron Man, and Doctor Strange is just being surrounded by the worst quippers in the Marvel Universe.

I'm sorry Blade, not even you were enough to keep me around.

My first full clear of 2025! For the price and scope, I had a lot of fun exploring the game and experiencing the story. As usual, beautiful sprite art from Team Ladybug that does not disappoint. The aesthetics of the game are excellent and visually interesting and had me peering down at all the details placed everywhere.

My only gripe is that there's a section in the middle of the game where you have to play as another character for story reasons and it's not so fun, but I would not let that stop me from recommending this game to others. Looking forward to more work from Team Ladybug!

Well worth your time and money

Mecha Knights: Nightmare is impressively well done for a solo dev project. The game itself mostly nails the feeling of fast ground mech combat, gliding back and forth on the battlefield while firing all four of your weapons at once. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I eventually settled on using the VERY busted Starfire laser rifles that let you microwave reds from across the map (this might be a plus, though). The mech designs and weapons are all solid and evoke the kind of rough military/industrial design of Front Mission wanzers or the bulkier Armored Core mechs. This was right up my alley from a visual standpoint.

You can really tell the dev's influences in the story, and while the character dialogue gets a little hammy to emulate the kind of banter you'd see in Ace Combat, I give it a pass. It really does feel like you're playing through a mecha anime and I do mean that in the most loving way possible. I became really invested in the story and wanted to know the mystery behind the Reds and whether the conflict would end up being resolved but before I knew it the 20 campaign missions were already over! I'm looking forward to getting around to the DLC and any potential sequels from this developer.

Wishlists for the next game/updates
- Better maintenance of momentum whenever your mech bumps over slightly differently heighted terrain while boosting. It sucks going from 150 speed to 80 just because you tried gliding over a river.
- Better Hangar UI: Seeing more info about your currently equipped part and more detailed breakdowns of your mech stats ala Armored Core.
- Expanded customization: More paint customization options on parts contributes so little to the gameplay but SO MUCH to the overall experience and fantasy while playing. Was a little bummed my options in this one were "paint the whole thing one color OR choose a texture"

Note that none of the above were major detractors from my enjoyment of the game, but would be super helpful in making the next installment way more enjoyable to the mecha audience.

hahahahahahahaha

This sucks, man.

It makes me miss Warframe but also wish Warframe was better. The game looks like an Unreal Engine 5 asset flip and feels completely unmemorable in terms of character/game design. I couldn't even get far enough in the game to see how bad the monetization was, that's how uninteresting this is. NOT EVEN THE GRAPPLING HOOK COULD HOLD MY INTEREST AND THAT USUALLY RULES.

Game Highlights

- Micromanaging your units squad compositions to be overpowered
- Giving a healer character a Dragon army
- Holy crap that Paladin lady is stacked, you can see her butt from the back of her game sprite
- Speedrunning tech to unlock firearms and cannons to render armor obsolete
- What do you mean the giant paladin lady becomes an even more stacked giantess and is now stomping on people

The cowards at Owlcat will let me give my 3-int Horse Companion the Scribe Scrolls feat but won't let me select it for scrollcrafting at the camping screen but other than that this is a 10/10 immaculate CRPG that sits among greats like Divinity and Baldur's Gate

This game is genuinely frustrating at times. When you get in the groove and find the right setup, it's very fun and rewarding. However when the game adds unfair modifiers or isn't clear on how recipes are made when they're added onto your menu it is very bad. Not sure if the game deserves the overwhelmingly positive score it's received so far. Jumping into multiplayer explains hardly anything of how any of the upgrades and day-to-day progression works and we had to basically feel our way around, to our own detriment. The game flaunts the promise of automation to streamline your runs but I find it hard to believe anyone could make it so far into a run that they could afford enough upgrades, investment, and space to make this possible.

I think the roguelite progression elements are a great touch and on the other hand a set of bad seeds will almost guaranteed railroad you into a bad run. Sure you can restart the game to get a new seed but that's defeating the purpose.

All in all, it's good when it's good, and very bad when it's bad. I'm finding that at best the ratio is 50/50. Be advised when purchasing

Absolute masterpiece of storytelling. I hope you enjoy reading. I could hardly put the game down once I bought it and finished it within the first two weeks. I love just how *dense* every interaction is with every person, thing, location, or even your own train of thoughts. The unsolved threads in this game and worldbuilding have me incredibly hungry for more from Disco Elysium as a DLC or possible sequel. I look forward to the next game from ZA/UM, regardless.

Between Golf With Your Friends and Tower Unite's Minigolf mode, Golf It! absolutely pales in comparison to both the aforementioned competitors, and any other golf games on Steam.

Golf It in it's current state is barely playable, which is sad considering the amount of time I've seen the game on Steam. The control scheme is awkward and doesn't allow players to gauge their putting power. The music in-game consists of a highly grating two minute loop. Stages are frustrating in a way that exceeds your average minigolf game with unintuitive or ungenerous angles and very annoying obstacles. Combine this stage design with a control scheme that hardly tells you anything about how you're about to hit the ball, and the game is just not that fun.

Some of the stages need a lot of polish and rework, namely the ice level and graveyard are the worst offenders. To be fair, I see a lot of potential and interesting ideas put into the Pirate Cove level. I applaud the use of the cannons as a creative way to play the stage.

Multiplayer works well with no issues and everything else seems functional. The core gameplay is just very frustrating and un-fun.
