Started off relaxing and calming before the difficulty started spiking heavily, By the end of chapter 7 I'm entirely stuck even with hints. would've refunded it but one too much time. It's an interesting concept it's well executed, but it makes me feel like a complete idiot.

So just came out that the voice of the narrator / ancestor has been liking and supporting extremely disparaging comments regarding immigration, race, and gender. Sorry but if the voice of the game is gonna be dunking on me and people I care about, then I can not in good conscious support it.

Shame, was a decent game.

HOLD THE LINE! Until steam page with the requirements, the login screen in-game, and the game is restored to sale in other territories... The fight's not over.

---edit--- Sony as of Midnight East Coast US on May 6th has stated they are rolling back the requirement for a PSN account. Yet to be seen how they are handling those living in countries they pulled the game, or if they're gonna turn around and **** everyone over again after the shareholder's meeting.

While the situation has improved, I cannot advise purchasing this title at the current time. Give it 6 months and check back in / wait for a sale. Until then I'm personally avoiding Sony products.

New patch to fix stability and performance didn't improve graphics, game still crashes on RTX cards with weapon debris enabled... and all mods including the fixes for that are broken... It wasn't bad enough to botch Starfield... Had to botch this release as well. Can't even FIX it until mods get updated.

Really batting a thousand Bethesda.

The production value on this game is great. There was obviously a lot of care that went into it; but it is NOT a successor to the first game, it's more of a spinoff.

One that feels over-tuned at that.

While the original game felt like you could still crawl forward, this one feels like an effort in pure frustration and masochism. I wish there was a neutral option, but unless they do some some heavy balancing work so you don't have solid runs completely killed by situations outside of your control, and obtuse / poorly explained mechanics. Even after 54 hours I still couldn't get through the second chapter. Unless you want a well produced experience in frustration, give this one a pass.

To the devs: Either add a radiant mode or at least make it so that you don't need to to run specific meta builds to progress.

Adding additional DRM post launch just to disable mods, post launch I might add. Is scummy at best... Not to mention the DRM tanks the framerate, and induces stutters as seen on Resident Evil Revelations. Said DRM has been added to this game, and has broken Steamdeck compatibility.

This review will stay negative until this trash DRM is removed.

Capcom, hope your investors are happy at you walking back all goodwill since the RE2 Remake.

Also, thanks for saving me the ~$80 dollars on Dragon's Dogma 2 already canceled the pre-order.

Honestly there's the foundation of a great game here. It runs well and it's extremely playable for an initial launch. Really looking forward to seeing it continue.
