Have you ever played the old classics Majesty, or Majesty 2? Well this game is much like those ... with far less personality. It could have used a bit of voices or interaction sounds to help break up the same game music going constantly. It seems to have a decent fundamental base of mechanics, it just seems to lack personality that games before it had. If they simply added voice acting to the advisor, or extra sounds for combat this would turn into an easy buy, it just falls very flat in the sound department that makes it hard to immerse in.

Just like it was before ... but so much better, I played this game a lot when it was first released but the origin launcher is cancer, now that it launches from steam and doesn't need the origin launcher in any way I am back to hot dropping and dying pathetically!

A masterpiece, the best of the franchise ... they started with greatness and lead it downhill every step afterwards.

Fun little game for the price, enjoyed the sequels as well.

This game has improved a fair bit from launch and is now a nice addition to the total war series.

Same but better

Slay the Spire meets Darkest Dungeon, two games people like merged into one .... who woulda thought it could work. turns out after some time has passed...still good

game good should play!

Some withstanding’s on this positivity,

This game is in early access and as such has some bugs, the game can crash a fair bit. This is already being worked on I had a file get into a permanent cycle of crashing and had to restart. However despite this I would like to say a few points.

Pros
-Continues the feel of previous versions of mount and blades that fans grew to love quiet well
-Refined tactics control over troops with substantially easier to understand commands (still a learning curve)
-A fun little character creation to adjust yourself at the start
-Easy to get into and figure out enough to enjoy with a high enough depth to find yourself wanting to know more.

Cons
-Early access still having some crash issues
-Companions seem to be a bit on a repeat of a few personality types, however substantially more companions because of this
-Fairly high cost for early access
-Not a noticeable change in visuals from previous versions.

End result
If you are a fan of the mount and blade series this is going to be a game for you without question, it keeps much of the old mechanics that people came to love while introducing new mechanics and character building to introduce a much more immersive depth to the game. For people who may be looking to get into the franchise this is also a great starting point as no previous information is required.

I look forward to exploring more of this as with my meager 10 hours at the time of writing this that I have barley scratched the surface of what I feel this game offers.

At current state 6.5/10
When the crashes get fixed and a few more things get flushed out an easy 8.5/10 + for me.

A good rogue like party builder. I find myself coming back to playing this every once in awhile and always enjoying coming back to see new content being released and finding new and interesting ways to get my party killed off.
