The LANBox was founded in 2007 by Grant Colegate for his mates in Adelaide to accompany his newly launched Garry's Mod server. The server quickly grew to be popular around Australia and the forum soon followed.

By 2009, The LANBox had grown to include several Garry's Mod servers, a Counter-Strike: Source server and a highly popular Team Fortress 2 server operated by Anakin. With this success came the expansion of The LANBox website to include news, reviews and tutorials.

In 2011 The LANBox was re-launched with a brand new take on it's role within online gaming by providing a better than ever social experience. Success continued with servers for Garry's Mod, Minecraft and Terraria.

In October 2014 our latest website was launched and with it came a far greater focus on the social and community aspects of what we do. What was once a social page hidden behind a blog is now a world-class community platform with members the world over.
