New year, new updates on the website. Even though we are on holidays I still dedicate time to updating the website, as a developer I always like to use my free time to keep improving. I forgot to mention the last time I received 2 advertising offers from official stores for Christmas, but I rejected both because they required me to put background ads that take up a lot of space and even adding both offers they did not reach €300 (if someone wants to bribe me, at least it should be enough to pay for a new server for the website). And now to the important part, I will detail the latest updates:




Implementation of Curators

Don't be scared when reading this, I have not implemented Steam curators but frankly I couldn't think of a better name for this. I have developed a code that with the help of the Steam API will gradually generate personalized websites for developers, publishers and game franchises. Here's an example with CD PROJEKT RED[pepeizqdeals.com] and another with Ori Franchise games[pepeizqdeals.com], you can check out their games quickly and without stabbing my server. When implementing curators I've also modified the game pages to load curator information there as well, you can see an example at Cyberpunk 2077[pepeizqdeals.com] (you'll need to scroll down before the game reviews). Curators will be rolling out gradually over the next few months so you won't see them everywhere for a while, I preferred it this way to see how the database behaves.




Improvements for registered users

I've improved several parts of the code and now in the search engine, filters and curators it will show you in green if you already have the game on Steam or GOG, or yellow if you have it in desired for any platform. I've also slightly improved the loading speed if you're logged in anywhere on the website, it will barely be noticeable for you but it saves a little RAM on my server.





Game reviews open for non-Patreon users

I want to emphasize that this is an improvement I'm testing and I may back out if my server potato can't handle the effort. After implementing some comprehension improvements to the database I decided to open up reviews on game pages, but non-Patreon users will not be able to change the language of reviews while Patreon users will be able to.





Implementation of the Amazon Luna + subscription

I realize that this subscription plan is not strictly speaking PC games, but I added it since they can be played on any PC and from a technical standpoint it was extremely easy for me to implement. Minor improvements all around

I've slightly improved the speed of the search engine and the loading of game pages, and fixed some small but embarrassing bugs.
