Ever since I started with Linux, the server has had a tendency to stop responding after 30 minutes or so. I think this was happening because of the multiple desktop feature in Debian. If a desktop remains inactive for a few minutes, the programs running on it are deprioritized. Since I had my VMs on different screens, the Garry's Mod one would go inactive a lot, which caused the server to stop responding.

I think I may have fixed the issue now by simply putting all my VMs on the same desktop. If you see the server not responding, please notify me so that i can have a look.

I've finished converting my server to running Linux, and all is back to normal.

I've decided I want to convert my server to run Linux and instead run the servers in VMs. This is more practical, since in case something screws up i can just backup the VM instead of having to reinstall everything.

I'm going to start this weekend, so expect the servers to be down for some time. They should be back by the end of next week at most.

This should have very little impact on performance, I'm only doing this because it's more practical for me.

I've finished setting things up, so the garrysmod server is back online now. L4D2 will be back on as well in an hour or so.
