Hey gamers! We are about 5 weeks from Lanwar 69! We hope you're excited. We did team moves last week, which opened up some extra seats in the hall! If you haven't registered yet, this is a great time to do so.

Lanwar is stronger than COVID! The August 2021 event went off without a hitch. If you missed it, you missed out! Despite the mask requirement, we had a great time as normal with gaming, tournaments, and other events such as duct tape wars.

Gamers, Lanwar 68 is ready to rock. It's time for more gaming, more partying, and more fun, and the event is only two and a half months away! Our dates are set for January 13-16.

Important: Since UofL's mask rule hasn't changed, Lanwar's January 2022 event will follow the same guidelines as this past summer. This means masks will be required indoors at our event at all times except when eating or drinking.

The boss is defeated. The galaxy is at peace. We've conquered the dungeon........ Well, no, not really. We haven't quite yet gotten 100% completion in the challenge which we have faced over the last year. We have been eagerly awaiting that glorious time where we could all come together, and handily destroy one another.

My fellow gamers, now is that time. Lanwar is returning in only 2 short months, from 7PM Thursday August 12th to 12PM Sunday August 15th. We'll be back at our home away from home, the University of Louisville Student Activities Center.

Now we know you have a million questions regarding the specifics and restrictions that we have for the event in the COVID world. Some of the questions we already have answers to, some, we don't. We are working on putting together an FAQ that should cover the major items soon™.

Registration will open soon and yes, we will give you advance notice so you can prepare to crash the website trying to get your seats for our gaming goodness.

COVID has won the first two rounds, but Lanwar won't lose the match. With vaccines starting to be distributed to more individuals, we are preparing for a summer Lanwar. We lie in wait for the chance to drink a few Bawls, depry ourselves of sleep and the chance to see everyone again. We are ready. UofL is ready. For 21 years, we've held an event every summer, unfortunately it is with great sadness that we need to announce the cancellation of this summer's Lanwar due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many of you, Lanwar is more than just an event to us. Lanwar has always been about community. At each event we look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. While we feel the responsibility to hold events so everyone can spend time together, the health and safety of the Lanwar family comes first.

Lanwar would not be what it is without the love and support that all of you have provided. Thank you for always being there for us and a special thank you to the Lanwar staff who pour their heart and soul into the events.

Rest assured that we have already started planning for an amazing event in January. We can't wait to see everyone.
