Why Hardcore, and what is it?

Hardcore came up from some time in legacy where we had loads more animals, which were faster and hit harder. This made exploring rad towns really hard, and attacking one rad animal caused a pack to come (as it would happen realistically, the wolfs would be a pack).

Anyway, I decided that I would give it a go on new rust – and here we are.

This is like a new mode for playing rust, you take more bullet damage, more bite damage, more rad damage, more bleed damage – well, just more damage in general, you get the point I think.

There is no Home, TP, DayVote, Stack Sizes, Remover Tool (only Hammer), No XP Boost, nothing. Just you and your pet, out to explore the new world – as the brave survivor you are.



Why no LiveMap?

Well I think live maps ruin it, you don’t learn your landmarks and thus it’s not realistic. Legacy rust never had any map plugin and it was hugely successful, and was also part of the fun. There was however maps made by the community so we will supply the map URL for you.

We feel it’s a superb map, full of plenty of places to loot, whilst keeping it small. Expect to see players OFTEN.

There are no clans, teams, friendly fire mods, so you better know who you’re shooting at – and yes, bullets do more damage as well.



Can we use the MEGARUST Teamspeak Server for HARDCORE?

Of course! The Teamspeak server is free for anyone and everyone to use, regardless of what game your playing. If you would like a clan channel just let me Ionstorm know!



Are you looking to add Quests plugin to the Server?

Yes, we actually are. If the server starts to become populated with 10+ online, I will look at adding the Questing system to add some RP to the game, this with the pet should work well.


Plugins:

CoptorTracker
This will spawn helicopters to the map, these are brutal and should be avoided at all costs, but feel free to try to take one down as a team for the XP gain, or perhaps join arms as an entire server group to destroy this threat.

Timed Execute
Server will restart every night at midnight.

Radtown Animals
This will spawn animals around the monuments and rad towns, making looting harder – further adding to the struggle.

You are allowed to tame a pet to help you in the wild.

/pet — activate\deactivate npc mode
/pet free — release the pet
/pet sleep — pet will sleep (low hunger and thirst lose, stamina recovers 3 times faster)
/pet draw — on\off draw system (you also can off it globally
in config)
/pet info — show info about your pet (health, hunger, thrist, stamina…)
