Clarfication: you can retro burn to adjust your orbit... but its got to be an orbit... IOW you can't build a giant 20 stage rocket... use 15 of the stages... fly out to the edge of space and then retro burn you're way back to kerbin...

Maybe that will be the second challege. :)
