Mod rules:

1. If you ban someone from chat who appeals in the forum and the ban is overturned with cause you will lose your modship for at least 1 month.

A plea to end the Ancap Steam group conflict.

In the last few days there has been internal struggles on the ancap steam group and for those that are not aware what happened here is my side of it.

On April 21 I log in on steam and find that my administrator rights on the Anarcho-Capitalist steam group had been removed, I also noticed that around 20-30 other admins had also been removed one admin was even banned (and 24 hours later unbanned) I also found a notification, an invite, to another group waiting for me on steam.

This group was called AnarchoCapitalists and had been founded by those that admin rights had been removed from, in the old group.

I was shocked by this development. I had heard about talks from the owner in the old group (Anarcho-Capitalist), Heavier that he wanted to make a comeback after a long time of absence on the admin scene and make a new fresh start with gaming events giveaways, etc. Ideas that personally agreed with and was encouraging, but I was not prepared for what could be called a purge of all the admins. This shocked me greatly.

You see, all this time that the owner and other senior admins from the beginning of the group had been absent, I had taken the group from under 200 members to 1200+ members! I have put in hours of effort, sweat, blood and tears to make it into a huge group! These new members came from personal contacts with ancaps in Sweden, reddit and twitter.

My goal had been to make the group a beacon for all ancap gamers in steam and to stand as an example of how many ancaps there actually are on steam and as gamers!

It was against this and the fact that I had received no complaint on this progress at all (i was even encouraged by the owner) that i felt betrayed and stabbed in the back. None of my time and effort was rewarded by the ownership. I was just tossed aside when "Change" was on their minds.

It was on this that I decided (with a heavy heart) to leave the old group and join my exile admins in the newly created group.

I also like a patron that had been served a bad meal in a restaurant i encouraged people to join this new group and disassociate from the old group.

I don’t know what the owners and his old admins friends want to do with the old group, but if I guess correctly their goal is to take the group in a more "Gaming" direction. My goal had all this time been to take the group in a more political direction with gaming more on the side, with the chat being a central hub for discussing political ideas.

If this was their goal I agree that somewhere down the road our paths would have started to separate anyway, I just wish that I could have been made with more tact and more respect for the time and effort I and others had put into it.

I would also had wished that this had been made more clear from the beginning when the purge happened, instead of lies, deceit and false accusations.

I have not been disrespectful towards anyone of the old admin group in the old group, I have tried very hard to be respectful and to carry out this "exodus" with honor and integrity.

Maybe in the future when this has calmed down we can meet once again, two groups with different goals, completing each other instead of competing. Maybe we can steer more gamer interested ancaps to the old group and more political ancaps towards the new group. I hope for that day and I hope that we are interested to do that.
