Why was this group made?

I lost my valuables in this game we call tf2 a long time ago and I have not done anything in a while due to the depression of losing them as they costed a lot of my own money that I had the spare cash to spend on. My friends irl had suggested I make a group and that someone or some people will be nice enough to be able to spare a few items so I can not feel like I've lost everything in the world. I am not rich and I would really appreciate the help. Some people have been nice to throw in some items and again I would really appreciate it, anything will help. My family comes first before this game so I can't be spending money on this like before. I have to care for them aswell.
