Kingdom of France

In light of the King's recent spending on war and the suffering that it must bring with it to the people of France, Cardinal Ansell de Créquy has announced a decree within the Kingdom proper, describing how the Church will hand out extra charity to the most needy in order to compensate for some of this suffering. He describes how, when our eyes turn abroad in hopes of new conquest, the Church must make an extra effort to remember the plight of those among us who are most unfortunate in life.

Every parish will pick a maximum of five cases for villages, ten for towns, and twenty for cities, whom shall receive additional help from the Church in the form of more food, help for reparations on houses, places within dwelling owned by the Church, a job if possible, or anything else of help which the specific parish is able to give to it's most needy.

It goes without saying that in order to qualify for this help, the needy must of course be Catholic.

The charity shall be handed out in a discreet manner to the extent possible, so as not to put the needy on unneeded public display and shame. For any good catholics who choose to donate to this extra effort in their respective parishes, prayers will be said for their souls in particular at the weekly mass, as well as in the daily prayers of the priest, for an entire month. It is important for the Cardinal that those who are generous are also credited for this.
