RECENT ANNOUNCEMENTS
Evaluation of Second Match
  • On Process we had become more organized, focusing on being defensive and not getting ourselves killed. The team, we were fighting were though even better than the last, so the match lasted much shorter. We took different paths during rollouts and such, which is a good thing.
  • On Upward we started on defence. We quickly got pushed back and spawn-camped a lot. When we then got on offence, I got backstabbed and my computer crashed, so I don't know how that half went.

Feedback:
  • DR!AWESOMENESS: Should focus on flanking more. Too linear and predictable movement.
  • Pootismobile: Seemed to have a lot of connection issues or being AFK. I've heard that Pyro is more of a stay-back support class in competitive.
  • ShadowPaint: Had a lot of trouble with map-navigation. Should use the sticky launcher more often. Stayed too far behind to do any good. Remember to never stand still.
  • Sandy: Should maybe focus more on supportive structures than sentries.
  • Mr. Platypus: Made some very nice shots. Based on score, not too consistent.
  • BlueHawkeye: Did fine. Took good routes. Seemed to have trouble escaping alive. Maybe Dead Ringe would help.

Wins:
  • Mr. Platypus quickscoped the enemy Engineer right in front of him.

Fails:
  • DR!AWESOMENESS got headshot before the round even started.
  • The enemy Scout bludgeoned two of us to death in a row with the Sun-on-a-Stick.
  • Sandy moved a level 3 sentry right into the enemy Heavy.

Evaluation of First Match
  • On Gullywash we learned that the initial squad strategy wasn't a good idea. Instead of sandviching the opponent, it divided the team to easy-pickings and lack of Medic for the other half. The squad strategy didn't seem to be followed exact; but still, rarely is the entire team intact, staying in one big group gives a more mobile force with redundancy, being reasoning for the shortcomings of the squad strategy.
We were slipping and the matches didn't last long (a lot due to unorganized defence of Last), but in the final round we managed the hold the point for a considerable amount of time and almost made a little comeback.
  • On Lakeside things were pretty similar. The final round was our best: We capped the point first and held it for half the time, and in the end lost with overtime.

These are my observations. They are not neccessarily correct and might be based on a lack of sense of situation in the replay. You don't have to listen to them, you have to decide wether you want to listen to them. I also recommend looking at other's feedback than your own.
Feedback
  • BlueHawkeye: Was very focused on capping, which is insignificant if the entire team can't push forward. Showed good usage of the map for flanking.
  • Capt. Glorypants: Was way too aggressive. Worked with an I-can-safely-escape-when-everyone-is-dead mentality. Would rocket-jump-attack with almost no rockets and get killed a lot.
  • Sandy: Good area control as Demoman & Engineer, not optimal for breakthroughs, which might not be neccessary.
  • Rachael: Wound up minigun a distance from the opponents, which is more useful with Natascha than other miniguns. A lot of standing in the open. Would recommend trying to stay secret and get people at closer range.
  • Mr. Platypus: Made some nice shots as Sniper. Did well in switching classes to cover the most important ones.
  • Solorgo: Seemed to be doing a good job distributing heals and moving around looking for people to heal.
  • Kuzin: Had good speed in operations. Quite aggressive.

The wins & fails are just for the sake of fun highlights, and while the fails show where things could be better, it's not a direct testament to one's skill
Wins:
  • BlueHawkeye captured Second while the opponent was distracted.
  • Kuzin just pranced right up to the enemy Medic and backstabbed him.
  • Glorypants shot a Scout, just as he triple-jumped, leading to his suicide.

Fails:
  • Glorypants shot a rocket, which got reflected and killed Solorgo.
  • Sandy jumped together with Solorgo straight into a then-kritzed Heavy.

If you want any individual tips, send me a message. I can probably pull in a couple friends if you have class specific stuff.

Might as well get it out of the way now, so there won't be a grand rush at the end.
For those, who haven't, sign up at ETF2L [etf2l.org] and give me your name, so I can add you to the team roster.
