Drake

Aubrey Drake Graham (Toronto, October 24, 1986), artistically known as Drake, is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor. Originally he became known for playing the character of Jimmy Brooks from the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation. She later rose to fame as a rap singer, releasing several mixtapes before signing with Lil Wayne at the US label Young Money Entertainment in June 2009.2

His first studio album, Thank Me Later (2010), debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 and was certified as a platinum record by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His second album, Take Care (2011), topped the charts in the United States and Canada, through the production of several singles, including "Headlines", "Take Care", "Make Me Proud", and "The Motto"; the latter is credited with the popularization of YOLO's widely used acronym. In the promotion of their second album, Drake made his respective tour, Club Paradise Tour, which became the most successful in the hip hop genre of 2012, raising more than 42 million dollars, with that same album, Drake won his first Grammy Award in the category of best rap album. His third studio album, Nothing Was the Same (2013), achieved great commercial success and was supported by the singles "Started from the Bottom" and "Hold On, We're Going Home". In 2015, Drake debuted two mixtapes, If You're Reading This It's Too Late and What a Time to Be Alive, being the first double-disc platinum. Their fourth studio album, Views (2016), obtained more than a million copies sold in the first week of its release, being supported with the singles «Hotline Bling», «One Dance» and «Pop Style». Later, Drake was about to make his fifth tour entitled Summer Sixteen Tour accompanied by rapper Future to promote his latest album and mixtape.

Drake has also written songs for other artists, including Alicia Keys, Jamie Foxx, Rita Ora and Trey Songz. In 2014 he collaborated with Romeo Santos on the second single of his album Formula, Vol. 2, entitled "Hate". Drake also became a global ambassador for the Toronto Raptors, the official basketball team of the NBA in his hometown.

The singer sold more than seven million albums worldwide until 2012. For his work he has won a Grammy award, three Juno awards, six BET awards, and established several important records in the Billboard charts.
