Database Rollback & Measures to prevent further loss

Hey Guys

So the other day the server was stopped to edit the MOTD and to remove the swear filter. Upon bringing the server back online it did not restore from the most recent database but an old backup from 28/29th. After talking with GTX there is no way to retrieve the old database as it was never backed up.

This was an unfortunate event for everyone on the server but we are all very lucky it did not restore from an earlier date.

We have implemented a Database backup to run every 6 real life hours to prevent such a rollback in the future. When i have time i will add a 2, 4 & 12 hour backup also to secure the database even more.

People have asked me if we can spawn the loot they lost?
Unfortunatly we do not have access to the database (No one except GP) So this is not an option.

We all lost gear with this rollback but this is a MOD of a MOD so these things will happen.

1.7.5 Update soon! Also some BAD NEWS! :(

1.7.5 should be available to update now, we are just waiting on it too be switched over.

Also, Upon the update to 1.7.5 we will loose some stored items..

NVG's will be turned into maps (all stored NVG's in houses & backpacks)
PKP's will be turned into PKM's (any stored everywhere)
Cinderblocks turned into 2 Tin Cans per unit of cinderblock. (stored everywhere)

This was not annouced and it seems a deliberate attempt to cut down on OP loot. Which is a real damn shame about the NVG's...

well the server scripts are fixed and now the server backs its self up every 6 hours, one of the admins should post something soon.

well ... we pushed ourself to get that stronghold rdy & working(stage9), and had everything but 3 bags of cement for the 10th stage also, we just didnt loose 2-3 days of work, we lost 150 bags of cement. And more than that, we didnt just lost those materials, we would need another 100 bags of cement in the next ~72 hours or our stronghold is gonna dissapear. and noone, including me, feels like playing dayz at all atm, not even speaking of farming cement bags. (weve done that for more than one week straight, just a bit of sec b here and there to "ease it up" a little.)
so ... yeah.

well looks like theres still no warnings on the 4 hour reboots and we are still back 2-3 days. ITs a pain in the arse we ALL lost out here but at the end of the day its only 2-3 days work and my guess is people wont be pushing buttons like they did again :D
