Absolute Fustration

I'm at the beginning where the Mannequin stops with the light in the corridor door and you have to run to the right to unlock the door to get into the safe room. I do the heart beat thing, Hold LT, Y and B a bar comes up, wait till it gets into the middle press RT to keep it in the middle. I've done this many times now and I still get caught.
