Starting the year off with some exciting news,
Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 will be released on January 14th!

Can't wait for everyone to be able to experience the game in full,
make sure you add it to your wishlist to get a reminder when it is released.

also, its been asked a lot, so for confirmation
Demo saves/progress will not carry over to the full game.

Demo Feedback

Overall fun, with some major issues: - Combat feedback is terrible. I can barely discern when I get hit or hit enemies myself, when elemental effects proc etc. - Build control is very weak. You just stack random "trinkets" with marginal bonuses that feel very random. - UI and UX are often unclear or lacking information. Often one reads some stat or something having no idea what it actually does. Similar problem in menu structure....

Thanks everyone for trying our demo and giving feedback on the forums and on Discord! We're going to keep the demo online for a while longer, and we've just updated it with some improvements and additions.

* Added tooltips to stats in the player screen for a breakdown of where you get your stat from.
* Added a thunderbird that can bring your materials back to town.
* Added indicator in HUD for when you have dash charges.
* Reworked health and mana pickups to be a bit more obvious.
* Added spell power upgrades to Magic Shop.
* Several smaller fixes in shop UIs.
* Changed dirk from an offhand to a mainhand weapon that is now int-based and deals physical and poison damage.
* Improved behavior when switching to fullscreen.
* Game should no longer crash on startup on certain Core i7 CPUs.
* Paladin Conviction: Tweaked and reworked all upgrades.
* Paladin Blessed Strike: Reworked lightning upgrade to be more consistent and impactful.
* Paladin Armored Knight: Wrath upgrade now deals damage based on your Armor.
* Paladin Inner Flames: Stack duration now resets when casting a spell.
* Wizard Arcane Intellect: Reworked base skill and some upgrades.
* Wizard Fireball: The projectile now deals collision damage and loses speed when colliding with enemies.

Just a small one, trying to clear up some of the quicker issues.

* Gave the small material icons more detail.
* Fix for minimap opacity.
* Fix for missing tooltips.
* Some UI fixes.
* Another multiplayer fix.

Do NOT buy/preorder this game without due diligence research on issues with this developer & its player base from Hammerwatch 2! Be warned the devs of this game has seemingly abandoned their last game in an incomplete state (Hammerwatch 2)

I highly recommend people search up Hammerwatch 2’s steam store page and go read the reviews + that game’s discussion posts. TL;DR, the devs released their last game barely over 1 year ago in an Early Access like state rebranded as v1.0 release. Post that ‘v1.0’ launch, my own experience and seemingly other players’ feedback are overall significantly negative after a year of constructive feedback that went unaddressed. Understandably, it’s jarring to learn the devs are now releasing a new game...

Paladin: Another Hammerwatch 2 Mess

Sadly, they seem to imitate the same poor class design as in Hammerwatch 2. The Paladin doesn't feel like a plated knight wielding a heavy melee weapon; instead, you feel like a wet noodle. There’s no incentive to choose melee with this class over the other two in the demo. The Ranger has at least returned to using a bow and arrow as their auto attack and can manage on their own, but is heavily dependent on mana to handle crowds. January 14th Release date!

The store page has the game releasing in 10 days apparently. Wasn't there last time I checked. Kinda surprised it's so close with no annoucement or anything. Is it going to be a full release, or Early Access release?
