Oldie but goodie, I haven't played Total War for many years and saw it on sale, so picked it up. Brings back a lot of good memories. Something about the strategy aspect just keeps me entertained. In anycase, highly recommend this game especially if you see it on sale. It's a turn based strategy game and basically the idea is to conquer the map by governing your encampments by building what's necessary for you to advance your chosen faction with the limited space within your settlement, so you must choose wisely. On top of that, you must build an army and balance the cost of the army with city building and war with other factions in order to conquer the map.

Peak RTS, i rank this as god tier among the greats. Red alert 2, empire at war, company of heros and Stronghold Crusader.
Sure it may be beast at first but when you play with trial and error the game is so much fun.
The mix of Civs city development and RTS battles.
and dipomacy can be done in a game of thrones fashion.
forging a alliance with elves and dwarves to fight a WAAAGH is insane.
