So, in the last sneak peek you saw the new area from high up, today we're taking a closer look!

I took this screenshot in today's bi-weekly progress meeting with the team and it's your first look at the flooded swamp land that you will find in the new area we are working on. You can also get a sense, looking at the aerial view above, roughly where this flooded barn might be and get a sense of the scale we're trying to build in Ardem!

It's another sneak peek at the new area we're building! This time it's an abandoned farm which you can stumble across. The whole area features a lot of what was previously farm land. Possibly great to build a new future on, possibly not. Time will tell.

We love putting these points of interest into the game and trying to tell a little story just using the environment. Be sure to check back here next week as we may have some news on how you could get involved with that as well...

Staying fed will be a big part of Ardem, and farming will be something a survivor can work towards! Maybe you'll be the Farmer on your server? Though, you'll probably need either some good defences, or some agreements with other clans to protect your crops. Or maybe you just stay a little more low key and just farm for yourself.

You may have seen the area in our latest dev diary, or some of the maps above, that feature a "swampy" terrain. Well, here we are experimenting with trying to bring that swamp atmosphere with some volumetric fog. We're not saying there's anything spooky in the swamp.

We are not saying that. It just, I mean, it looks both spooky and chill at the same time, right?!

Hello, everyone!

As you may have seen, a while back, we opened up applications to join us for a Closed Alpha. We had a lot of applications and let in even more people than we planned because of it. One thing that has really been exciting for us is the amount of great screenshots and moments our testers have been sharing, so we thought we’d share some with you here!

This screenshot from Nanjan really shows off the more chill side of Ardem, out by the water fishing with a fellow survivor.

Another from Nanjan, chilling later on watching the sunset. This makes Arderm look so peaceful! You could almost forget the killer robots, and the less friendly other players...

Here, we see the True Closed Alpha Tester experience as players ventured into the new part of the map for the first time. We’ve explored this area in our latest Dev Diary Marick, who took this one and titled it “Highway to Hell.”

Malrun took this while exploring. Honestly, we’re not sure what this is up there. “UFO’s confirmed” was one comment. We can neither confirm nor deny this.

Tatcher posted this, and I think it’s fair to say they were right to report the bug. One of the main things in our closed alpha is finding bugs, and yeah, we’d say falling through the ground is a bug. (- We fixed this).

Finally, another one from Nanjan. Fishing, with the BBQ grill set up over the fire ready to get a fish supper ready.

The amount of bugs we’ve fixed, ideas people have come up with and fun we’ve had just during this first month of our closed alpha has been huge! We’re incredibly thankful to our team of closed testers!

We will have another Open Alpha in the not too distant future, and we are looking to re-open the closed alpha applications soon. So, be sure to keep an eye out here, or head to our Discord[discord.gg] to join the conversation!
