How is a puzzle game with 400 levels a roguelike?

Am I missing something, or is he just supposed to be more difficult to play as? His special ability feels like way more of a downside than an upside. The only consistent use I've found for the cane is destroying power sources, with some ability to cut wires as well as long as you're not planning to walk through the tile you target....

After a lot of blundering in my first hour or so playing the game while I was learning the ropes, I have finally manage to string together a succession of 4 'wins' and unlock a bit of new stuff. But the layout of the game hub suggests there is a lot more stuff to unlock yet, and I am trying to get a sense of how much time I might have to sink into this if I want to unlock everything... would I need like 20 wins, or 100 wins, or 500 wins?
