Do the adjacent pieces connect when put together anywhere on board, or only when placed in the proper location? Thanks!

Attention Developer: Jigsaw 3 pieces fantasy.

You were so kind to me; so I was hoping to get your help back. I don't know how to get to you and I don't know how to send the puzzles to you. Black puzzle shadow piece still exists. I still have 6 puzzles doing this. I might be able to put 1 piece down and then I get the shadow pieces again....
