After finishing this game and all others in The Room series, I think it's only fair to give the game devs their dues.
The Room 4 is easily the best in the series (IMO). It has the most unique gameplay/storyline and the ending nearly made me cry, despite just being a series of dollhouse stills.
Heavily recommend. There are many parts where you aren't immediately going to understand the puzzle, but I would deeply recommend taking a break from the game and coming back instead of using hints or guides. Unironically, the game showed me a type of dedication and problem-solving in myself that I didn't know I had.

This felt like a very nice mix of the puzzlebox style of the first game and the escape room style of the other two games. I like the strategic use of the marks that can only been seen with the eyepiece, and it's not to not be penalized in any way for using the hint button. It's really cool to see the lore of this world expand with each new installment.

The fourth entry into this enduring series of puzzle games continues mostly unchanged, with little to no innovation, and even reverts in some aspects, such as returning to a singular ending and a more limited environment.

The very mild Lovecraftian atmosphere also loses some of its charm, as it isn't developed any further and remains a one-note background aesthetic.

Nevertheless, it's still a decent puzzle game at its core, doesn't take too much time, isn't obnoxiously difficult and you might get few hours of immersive entertainment out of it.

Again, the best in the series: a visual and design improvement over the third installment which was already the watermark. The plot is still clumsy and superfluous, but let's not kid ourselves, we play The Room for the nearly tactile puzzle experience, and even more than in part 3, that entire experience feels interconnected in a beautifully satisfying way.
