Bug Reports
When reporting bugs or mod conflicts, please always upload your log file via HugsLib (press Ctrl + F12 directly after the problem happened) and include the link in your message. Without a log file there is no way for me to figure out what exactly is wrong or how to fix it.

using a rift map, if a trade caravan makes it to the centre of the map(where they wait for you to trade), they bug out and cant find the exit when its time to leave. they just wander until they starve. but if they leave before reaching the centre (for example, leaving due to dangerous temperature on there way to the waiting area) they seem to be able to path-find just fine and can leave.

the same bug occurs if you try and free a prisoner. they cannot find an exit, and go berserk a couple of seconds later.

i have tested this with vanilla path finding, and the "perfect path finding" mod, using dev mode to spawn 10x caravans at a time to make sure it wasnt some sort of fluke.

there may be more bugs i havnt yet come across in a similar vein to this, but im only in my first in-game year.

Edit; looks like this can also happen to raiders. the only one who managed to path-find off the map was one carrying a kid napped colonist. all of the others got stuck wandering.

having problem with roads not generating on map with river. the river will generate.

I do have map rerolls installed, but for some reason the mod doesnt show Landform rerolls, It wont consider the specific landscape of the tile and simply change it to the type it has. For example i had a Cirque in a Flat type tile. Trying to reroll it only gives me other flat tiles.

Just settle where caravan is. The tile should have lone mountain, but 9 out of 10 tries it generains a flat plain.

No other mods aside of official DLCs and Harmony.

Can't find the Error log for map generation errors but seems like there's a conflict with this mod and Regrowth: Aspen forests. The mod will treat the aspen forests like desert biomes, and upon map generation it'll fail and take you back to main menu.

@ignis thank you for reporting and providing the save file, I pushed an update to fix it.

@Capitão Pinguim the issue you reported was likely related and should also be fixed.

@Lobster that bug has nothing to do with Geological Landforms, it also happens without it. It is an issue in Regrowth itself (in its integration with VFECore).

Edit: It seems like it has already been fixed by the devs of VFECore by now.

Impassable tiles can still have landforms on them. It messes up search function.

I have problems with no one leaving the map too, this is on a crater.
I didn't think to blame the map layout so I tried to find the issue by looking into the pathfinding code first of all and I think it eventually ends up in TryFindBestExitSpot(), which selects cells in an increasing radius around the pawn exiting until it finds one on the edge of the map that's usable to exit.

With just a handful of tiles in a map valid to leave the map, and the algorithm giving up after 30 attempts, I think it might just be giving up early. Looks like this core part is designed to work with very open maps

someone on the sam streamer discord has said clean pathfinding has an option called exit tuning which can fix this if you increase it from default.

One possible bug report (or not, might be a false positive). I've settled in a cirque, and have been doing quite a bit of mining, but have yet to encounter even a single metal vein. Nor do I see any compacted steel or components anywhere on the map.

Could be bad luck, I guess, but it seems unlikely.
