Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Medical Module
Operating Tables vs Beds
As Vengorin said in the comments a few days ago, there needs to be an option to toggle whether a bed can have surgery allowed or not. Otherwise they can't be used as they should be.

If I have both hospital beds and operating tables in a hospital, and set them all to medical, then injured colonists will just end up on either of them. Same goes for when a medical procedure needs to be done.
I can't really have a hospital running properly and take advantage of the bonus to surgery chance the operating table offers if II can't set which beds are allowed for surgery or not.

That's more of a workaround than a reasonable solution. Not saying there isn't a way to do it, but I shouldn't have to faff around with colonists whenever I need to run a medical procedure. It should kinda be built in you know? The same way Hospitality has the option for guest beds.

Perhaps you could zone a "surgical patient" for colonists awaiting operations, that disallows them from going into the main recovery ward and the operating rooms only. Then switching them back to normal when the operation is done.
I agree, we really need a way to force a bed to be used for surgery
Operation rooms just seem to be cosmetic at the current moment or even detrimental to the overall efficiency of the hospital and its operations
Came back for another playthru of Rimworld ...... Still no sign of a mod being able to do this. :(
