Introduction

This is a pack of fallen pine trees. There's 7 unique fallen trees and 4 stumps, plus terrain conforming variants of some trees. You can use these to help detail forest floors.

- These are a bit more tricky to use than their tree counterparts. Getting props to behave as intended is just more difficult in general.

- Assets labeled "TC" are terrain conforming, otherwise everything is non conforming so they can be clipped or moved.

- Ignore the "LP" naming convention on some assets, it's an artifact of an older update version and I can't change asset names.

- All models have custom LODs.

- Adaptive Prop Visibility, Prop Snapping, and Move It will all help you get the most out of these, but none are strictly necessary.

2020 9 23 Update

* Remodeled every tree to fix a variety of mesh errors and improve overall quality. Fixed a lot of floating branches, etc.
* Better tri count optimization. Used a bit more where it counts and way fewer where they didn't matter.
* Improved the texture with ambient occlusion and better coloration.
* Every asset across all 4 packs now share a single 512 x 1024 texture, maximizing loading screen mod gains.
* Re-enabled tree sway. See mod recommendations below.
* More cohesive look between the 4 packs in the set. The scrub trees look fuller, the low tri trees look more like their detailed siblings, and the fallen and stump props better match the textures of the trees.

The Pine Family

I've released 4 packs of related assets for these trees, and you can pick which ones work best for you.

* The original Pine Forest pack has 11 moderately detailed trees, including 4 dead trees and one that's on its way out. These have tri counts around 1000 or lower, which is fairly average for Skylines trees of their size.

* The Low Tri Filler pack adds 4 low-tri trees resembling the living trees in the original pack. All four are under 300 tris, which is about as low as it gets. These can be used to pad out forests or used on their own for performance conscious players.

* The Pine Scrub pack includes 11 smaller trees and bushes. Unlike the tall and narrow trees above, these ones come in a variety of shapes. They work as forest underbrush, as krummholz for rugged environments, or as decorative landscaping trees.

* The Fallen Pine Props pack includes logs, fallen trees, and stumps, all in prop form. This pack is for people interested in detailing forests. This pack requires a bit more patience than the trees by nature of the way props work.

Technical

- All 37 assets across the four packs share a single 512 x 1024 texture set. The Loading Screen Mod should eliminate the vast majority of functional RAM requirement for these packs.

- Tree LOD Fix is critical as always, and the larger trees may warrant Ultimate Level of Detail

- These assets no longer have a modified tree sway. I now recommend using the Tree Movement Control mod to reduce sway, which can eliminate sway on LODs as well, and doubles for random tree rotation.

Perfect! I've been making forests with your really nice efficient trees and noticed the forest floor didn't look right because there were no dead trees!
