Welcome to Sky Is Arrows, where every second matters. In this intricate fantasy world, heroes rise and fall under the shadow of relentless challenges, escalating difficulty, and the ever-present threat of permanent death. The stakes grow higher the longer you play—time is your greatest enemy, and hesitation can be fatal.

Adapt or perish as the game steadily ramps up the intensity. Strengthen your hero and marshal your armies to safeguard your castle and overcome relentless foes. But survival demands more than brute strength—you’ll need to master the art of quick decision-making as you collect and choose from a wide array of items. Will you focus on stacking powerful effects to amplify your hero’s abilities or hunt down rare, game-changing treasures to turn the tide in your favor?

As your hero progresses, you’ll grow stronger with each choice you make. Strategically allocate skill points to develop devastating physical power or uncover the secrets of a spell’s ultimate potential.

Pick your item, quick!

In Sky Is Arrows, item chests contain 1-3 randomly distributed items for you to choose from. Most items can be stacked up to 30 times, amplifying their effects, while others are rare and one-of-a-kind or exclusive to certain maps and DLCs. Planning your hero and army build is key—but you’ll also need to adapt to the randomness of the items presented.

Quick decisions are vital: as you master the items and their possibilities, you’ll make faster choices. However, for new adventurers, hesitation can be the downfall of many heroes. Contemplating too long will cause the game to escalate in difficulty—so think fast or face the consequences!

There are 73 items total: 41 Core + 6 Dragon Bracer + 20 Celestial Bow + 6 Ebonhare Visage.

             

Important Notice

As of January 1st, 2025, Sky Is Arrows has transitioned from a free-to-play model to a one-time purchase price of $14.99 paired with lower DLC prices. Existing players who downloaded the game before this date will retain access without additional charges. New players are invited to join the adventure at the current price.

As with many creators in 2024 and beyond AI has become a versatile non-essential but very useful tool in my toolbelt. Version 1.4 introduced new unit portraits (in the top left of the screen,) to replace my hand drawn animated artwork as it more captures the desired level of detail and emersion! These artworks particularly just need style and detail and aren't the direct in game animated unit sprites. These artworks were carefully crafted using AI using the original hand drawn artworks as direct input and then reworking them in PhotoPea, and back and forth. A somewhat time consuming process that even led to some unexpected but even better results (as with all art, and not as time consuming as doing them without AI tools!) In addition to this AI has been incorporated on other artworks including AOE targeting placements and range UI, and some of the item artworks. I have been careful to continue to hand draw many sprites and do manual texture and other work in PhotoPea, and strive for a consistent level of quality across all elements. When looking at the screen at any given time you are looking at mostly non-AI artwork (all the units, 3d models, textures that are often modified from photos, etc) with a sprinkling of AI artwork (portraits, some items, some promotional artwork.) AI was also used on the new copy writing in version 1.4 to help with the backstory and campaign related quest texts.
