Why Early Access?

“I believe that Harrowlands is already at a stage where you can have fun and get a solid taste of its core gameplay. But I have a much bigger vision for it. There’s a lot more I want to add and refine before calling it ‘complete.’ Early Access allows me to keep improving the game while you, the players, get to enjoy it and shape its future with your feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I’m hesitant to give an exact date, because I plan to keep adding key features until the game meets my own standards and your expectations. That might take at least another year or two, depending on how development progresses.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“My goal is to include a wealth of additional content: seasonal festivals, expanded world events, new quests and storylines, specialized factions and religions, challenging bosses, magical catastrophes, deeper character behaviors, advanced diplomacy, and more unique points of interest on the world map. Basically, I want to fill the world with life, surprises, and meaningful player choices.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core colony sim elements are in place—everything from detailed AI behaviors and balanced needs systems to tension-building events and a solid combat loop. Exploration is rewarding, and there should be extensive mod support, so the community can contribute and keep the game evolving between my own updates.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, I plan to gradually raise the price as more major updates, new content, and improvements are added throughout Early Access. I believe the game’s value will grow over time, and I expect the price will reflect the expanded scope and polish. That said, I'm still determining the exact timing and amount of any increase.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I’ll be sharing announcements on Discord and the Steam community hub—posting roadmaps, dev progress updates, and engaging in Q&A sessions. Your feedback and suggestions will help shape future updates, and I’m looking forward to chatting with you all!”

Harrowlands is a medieval fantasy colony sim where you guide your settlement through the ever-changing world of Elderath. Experience the everyday lives, struggles, and triumphs of your inhabitants—each with their own backstory, traits, and destiny.

Choose your story

Begin as fugitives who’ve narrowly escaped a reaver’s keep, or as mutated survivors from a forbidden sacrificial rite. Your settlement’s origin is up to you.
