Why Early Access?

“This is a deck building game and as such it relies heavily on having a proper balance and appropriate synergies between items. Having a diverse group of individuals play the game from different angles, play styles and viewpoints will provide the best possible feedback into how the game should be evolved so that all styles of play have a path to success.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Between 2 and 4 months, depending on how impactful the feedback is. Ideally enough time to gather feedback, get that feedback into the product and back into the hands of the early access players a minimum of 2-3 times with the game showing significant improvements in playability with each iteration. But if the feedback keeps coming we are committed to taking the time necessary to get the game right.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The core game mechanic is fully playable at this point, but a lot of the supporting structures are still being developed (a tutorial, stats, achievements, sound and music, etc...) The biggest changes will probably come in fine-tuning the core loop of the game so that it's balanced and has the right combination of relics/potions/perks. I expect there to be many new additions to the relics, perks and achievements as feedback comes in.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Core game is fully playable, although a little rough around the edges (animations, transitions, sound F/X, etc...) But a player can fully experience the core essence of the game and they can win and lose, start over, etc... Game save works so you're not tied into a single game session per run, you can fully save and return to the game later. We have 20 different decks with 160+ items already in the game, so there is enough content to keep someone engaged for a significant amount of time.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Early access pricing will be roughly 40-50% discount to the final pricing as a thank you for those who take the time help get the game into the best shape it can be for a V1 launch.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Discord server is set up and ready to go for folks to provide feedback, screenshots, video captures, etc... and to talk directly to the developer. YouTube channel is being set up so we can drop videos that showcase the new additions/bug fixes/balance tweaking that is done as the game progresses. Frequent builds, quick turn arounds on bug fixes and feature additions to keep the community active and engaged.”
