Why Early Access?

“Getting this game as Early Access is important to me to gain feedback from the community to build a game that's not only accessible, but also to pinpoint areas that need to be improved on, whether relating to design, visuals, or audio. The progression of this game makes it so that it can be easily updated in small increments, therefore making it a great candidate for early access iteration.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Based on the current rate of development, this game should be out of Early Access in approximately 3-5 months after our initial Early Access release, depending on the feedback and ideas I get from players.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The plan is that the full version will include additional games and bosses. I am planning to include a major boss battle to help reveal the player's purpose and resolution as hinted from the start of the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The early access build will include 21 different retro games and 2 boss battles. It will also have split screen competitive multiplayer support and daily challenges.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“My plan is to gradually increase the price as more and more content is added to the game.”

“I will be interacting with the community through the steam message boards and various game and social media sites. I will be listening to feedback, interacting with players, and applying useful feedback back to the game. About This Game

You're a kid in a mall and you see 4 gaming kiosks that aren't being used. What do you do?

You monopolize them all of course! You keep switching from one kiosk to the next every few seconds, asserting your dominance!

Welcome to Retro Endurance 8bit! The game starts off by randomly picking some games from your current unlocked collection of games. You will then keep switching between each game every 10 seconds. In the last round of each game, the game runs at 2x the speed.

The more you play, the more score you accumulate as experience points and the more you level up. Each new level introduces either a new game or a boss battle with some existing games getting harder with new content.

Plus it's got at least 20 classic retro game recreations with more and more coming soon!

Features:

  • Solo developed game. Designed, coded, drawn, and composed by zsKnight.

  • Simple, yet fun and addictive game design

  • The early access build includes 21 classic retro style games with more to come

  • Representing multiple genres including racing, platformer, adventure, RPG, shoot 'em ups, and more!

  • Random generation algorithms in all games so they will feel different each time you play.

  • Unique boss battles where you battle the boss while constantly switching between different game genres every few seconds until you deplete its hit points.

  • Split screen local competitive multiplayer. Play each other side by side with the same randomly picked game sequence order and with the same random deterministic values for fairness. At the end of the multiplayer session, you can also see a breakdown on how you both did on each separate game against your opponent.

  • Daily challenges! In the daily challenge mode, there will be a new challenge every day with a fixed sequence of games with leaderboard support. Daily challenges unlocks at level 5.

  • More games will be added and included free in future updates. The price will increase as more games are added, so buy early while the price is low!

  • Many secrets and easter eggs to be discovered!

Future Plans

First will be the release of the early access build with 21 classic retro style games ready for you to play. It will then continue to grow from there with new game segments and bosses released on a regular basis as long as there is an active community. Once there is a good amount of games, more levels will be added to each of the previously created games. The previously created games will also be updated with new content.

There are other features planned such as custom play mode and online play. These modes will be implemented depending on the growth of this game in addition to the number of concurrent players for online play.
