What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“vROVpilot: TITANIC is a work in progress and we have many ideas that we'd love to implement to give the most immersive and enjoyable ROV piloting experience around the historic Titanic wreck. Through Early Access, we are able to receive valuable feedback, ideas and opinions about this game experience as we continue development.

The bow represents a little less than 35% of the full data set as captured by Magellan. We hope to release the stern to you in early 2025 while also incorporating community feedback from Early Access players. Magellan will look to release the debris field in full following a successful launch of its application.

Presently Magellan are able to offer the bow of the Titanic wreck at just 10 percent of the full resolution of the data set. We captured so many polygons that we just can't fit it all in!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It could take up to a year to develop the application further depending on the feedback we receive from the community. We have the resources available for further development of content and we are hopeful we will be able to integrate the full data set into the final game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of vROVpilot: TITANIC is planned to have:
-expansion of exploration of the Titanic wreck (stern and debris field).
-unlockable ROV part upgrades such as manipulators and thrusters.
-true-to-life ROV models, physics and controls.
-representation of sea-life that resides on the real world wreck along with scanning missions for these elements which will unlock detailed descriptions of beautiful sea-life.
-an expanded pool of missions that diversify gameplay and enhance the experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of vROVpilot: TITANIC gives the player around 20 minutes of mission and guided gameplay featuring the iconic bow of the Titanic. Missions require scanning key features of the Titanic wreck such as the anchor crane, lifeboat davit and much more! Gameplay can be seen as infinite after the missions are complete since the player will be able to explore the bow of the Titanic as much as they like.

The experience comprises an accurate ROV UI, realistic underwater condition visual effects and comprehensive sound effects which really pull you into the immersive experience as an ROV pilot.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price is fixed for the Early Access version of vROVpilot: TITANIC. We plan to gradually increase the price as we add new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community can get involved through Steam forums as well as through our Reddit and other social media posts, we encourage our players to give suggestions and ideas through those channels.”
