What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I'm Gizzmo, just a young guy who just wanted make my own video game like the games I used to play as a kid. I aim to scratch that itch of just a solid game that you can boot up whenever and try it a different way.

It's in Early Access so people can give their thoughts and ideas on the game as I develop it. Whether it be level mechanics that don't work, items not balanced properly, suggestions to improve the game beyond my perspective and of course the numerous bugs and issues that game will no doubt have.

Easoar started in late 2019 and I've been working on it on my own since. Of course with the help of lovely people that helped make musical bangers and fantastic character illustrations. This game has been a lot of fun and I really want to share it with the rest of you and see your own creative ideas and suggestion.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I would say maybe a year or two. The game itself has all its features locked down solid. Just need to make all the content for all of the "Acts" of the game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan for the full version of the game to have three Acts, with a goal of providing a full narrative and complete gameplay progression. I may add some minor features along the way and fixes to issues provided by player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Easoar is nearing the final stages of completion. This coming version will contain the first Act of the game. Gameplay-wise the other acts are done, it's just final testing and artwork are currently in progress, but they will be coming!

This current Act is waiting on spritework for bosses and enviromental design to make the areas feel more real. The Act is also waiting on music to be completed for the last couple of stages, as well as other minor themes.

What's already done?
  • All level in Act 1 are polished gameplay-wise
  • Bosses are done mechanically, awaiting sprites instead of just default shapes
  • Gameplay mechanics are all programmed and polished
  • RPG mechanics and items are all completed, there will most definitely be bugs and issues that need to be ironed out due to the sheer amount of gear combinations
  • Cutscenes and the narrative such as dialogue and cutscenes are done with the exception of the introduction

What's in the first act?
  • Around 5 hours of content on your first playthough
  • 6 levels featuring 2 parts each
  • An arena with new bite-sized matches for rewards after completing each level
  • Around 24 unique weapons to try out
  • Around 30 trinkets to equip
  • Around 20 augments to mix and match
  • 8 Dashes to equip
  • 10 Bosses
  • 35+ Unique enemies

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“As the game increases in content and overall playtime, the price of the game will gradually increase. Mostly by a per-Act basis. Each Act is a chunk of content, featuring new levels, items and music.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'm a master at playing this game, because it's all I play. Fresh eyes on this game will dramatically improve it, especially those dedicated to breaking it. Finding glitches, game-breaking equipment combinations, absolutely trash weapons and ideas that just don't work outside of my head.

Please contact me through discord as that's where I am active most of the time. I plan to make a server in the future where people can vote on ideas and concept, lodge bug reports. But for the time being, gizzmo3705 is who I am, so send me a DM about your thoughts on the game for any improvements you can think of.

Everything is appreciated but keep in mind that this game is under contruction and things are subject to change.”

About This Game

EASOAR is heavily inspired by certain 2D action platormers from the SNES era of gaming. With a focus on build variety and customisation with fast-paced action.

  • Side-scrolling action with addicting gameplay. Climb up walls, jump over the heads of enemies and dash your way around like you're fresh out of hospital.

  • Demanding difficulty that has you fight tooth-and-nail in order to achieve victory, as a result of skill or well chosen build creation.

  • Become a master-of-arms as you purchase and stumble upon a vast array of weaponry to suit any playstyle you demand.

  • Witness surreal landscapes and fight horrible creations as a result of the innaturums, whether intentionally designed or not...

  • Explore the vast array of build progression and customisation as you stare at stat screens for 30 minutes in order to get that 10% extra damage to achieve perfection.

  • Replayability is encouraged

Innaturums:

You choose what kind of maniac wildslinger you are. But which innaturus power will you harness in your revolt against the Easoar Corporation?

  • COFFIN [CF]
Pure power and traps, destroy everything with purple bass and leave nothing in your wake.

  • BOLIDE [BO]
Buffs and healing, melt machinery with the power of bubbles and become a regenerating monster.

  • ALDER [AL]
Debuffs and Summoning, become a commander over machines and a herald of suffering with cyan radiation.

Customisation:

Equip a miriad of different weapons, bombs, dashes and augments. Literally just any junk you find on the ground. Make sure to dress your best, wildslingers have standards after all.

  • Weapons: Two can be equipped at once and can be swapped between. Wield Assault Rifles, Revolvers, Flamethrowers, Swords, Miniguns that fire waves of orange, carbonated bubbles!

  • Trinkets: Items with limited uses that replenish at checkpoints, plan their usage accordingly. They are everything, such as: Bombs, Throwing Knives, Throwing Axes, Robot Summons, Plant Seeds, Soda Cans, Mini-Volcanoes, Vials of Various, Sinister Goo.

  • Augments: Powerful stat upgrades that all require different space requirements in order to fit into your build. How you use their synergies with eachother is how you become unstoppable.

  • Dashes: Movement upgrades that can either be passive or activated when dashing in mid-air. Dance around your foes or dash straight through them.

Stat Upgrades:

Weapons can be upgraded using materials found in levels. Stats can be increased to raise your affinity with a certain Innaturums, other stats like your maximum health or how many trinkets can be held at once.

Use every tool at your disposal to fight against Easoar and become a true force of innature!
