Why Early Access?

“Dinkum is a game I’ve been working on for nearly 10 years. While I believe the game is very close to being feature complete, having the game in Early Access allows me to continue development on Dinkum, while involving the community, their suggestions and feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I will continue the development of Dinkum until I feel like the game and its content are at a quality I consider completed.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“My plan is to expand on the existing activities in the game, such as seasonal activities, hunting, trapping, diving, farming and photography. In addition, I will continue to offer players new activities and locations to discover and experience.
Additionally, throughout Early Access I intend to add new unique items such as bugs, fish, crops, clothing, crafting recipes and furniture to make your island feel even more like home.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Dinkum contains a solid experience with a lot of content. Players can enjoy crafting, fishing, bug catching, mining, metal detecting, farming crops, raising farm animals, planting orchards, hunting, driving vehicles, buying new clothes, upgrading and decorating their homes. As well as making friends with and convincing unique villagers with their own business to come and live on their island.
Since early access has started I’ve also been able to add new locations, such as two new underground mining levels, a new island reef to visit, hundreds of new items, new NPC visitors and other quality of life changes.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Dinkum will be offered at a lower price while it’s in Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will be involving the community through Dinkum’s Discord server where players are welcome to leave their feedback and suggestions for new features or for balancing changes. Any update or patch will be fully transparent and include patch notes.”

About This Game

G'Day there! Get ready to start a new fair Dinkum life. Expand your town on an island inspired by the wild Australian outback. Gather resources through hunting, mining, fishing, and foraging. Connect with friends to experience the unique charm of Dinkum.

Cultivate crops for your town across the whole island. Choosing the best spot is essential as each crop has its own ideal season and way of growing.

Build fences and raise a variety of animals. They might seem exotic at first, but you'll soon discover how adorable they are!

Invite your friends to visit your town where they can help you construct buildings, shop at your stores, or go fishing together. You can also do much more together, like racing emus or fighting crocodiles.

Go from starting out sleeping in a bag under the stars, to a sprawling town with farms, businesses, and attractions. Eventually, you'll draw in visitors, who might decide to stay and make it their home too.

Make your character and home uniquely yours! Once your home is just the way you like it, invite your friends over to show off your interior designer creds.

Hunt animals for food and defend yourself from deadly predators who are just as hungry as you. Those kangaroos might seem friendly but they pack a punch! Attack creatures head on or capture them with traps, it's up to you how to survive.

The island is chockablock with insects, fish, and minerals. So grab your flip-flops and roam around to collect them all. Display your finds in your personal museum collection, or sell them for a tidy profit.

Keep your neighbors happy by customizing your town with fences, flower beds, street lamps, beehives, windmills, hedges, fountains, and more. The happier your townsfolk are the more likely they are to settle down and offer unique items.
