This should be a walkthrough to help you play with mods without any issues. It works for servers / multiplayer games you create and single player. If you join a server you don't really have control over or a server your friend has made, they may need to type this command in too.
1 - Open the L4D2 console
2 - Type in sv_consistency 0
3 - Load up a campaign and see if it works
4 - Your game and any servers you create should hopefully have no issues running mods.

Since I did this I have been able to load into games with all my mods activated, I have donald duck ripping my face off, goofy constricting me with his tongue and steroid junkie mickey mouse chucking concrete towards my face. If it doesn't help I apologise but I don't know what else can be done.
