Disclaimer: Spoilers!
Please note that this guide contains major spoilers for Dead Cells, including final bosses, biomes and hidden achievements. This guide contains NO spoiler tags at all and contains various screenshots of the biomes and final bosses. This guide was created during the first beta branch and includes the following updates;
If and when further content is released, I will try and keep the guide up-to-date.

I would strongly recommend throwing a few hours into the game and completing the game at-least once before cleaning up the remaining achievements.

If, however, you are struggling or just don't care about spoliers, then proceed!
I've grouped the achievements into categories and split the guide up accordingly. Unfortunately, Valve has a character limit on each guide section. So I've now added extra categories (seemily unnecessarily) so I do apologise!

This guide is currently incomplete!

I've not played the game in a while and very rarely get time to. I've added 'Rise of the Giant' achievements in but haven't done them myself yet so I do not have screenshots or really much information. If you have any screenshots, information, useful tips or spot any errors, please let me know.
Pre-Requsities
Knowledge of Biome Structure

More than likely, you haven't come to this guide having clocked a single hour in the game, wanting to unlock all the achievements. So you probably have all the runes absorbed and know the paths to access the respective biomes. Granted, those who've played since the beginning of the beta branch (like myself), will know that the biome structure has changed drastically throughout the major updates. Hopefully it'll settle for a while now in the 1.0 release, but just in-case, you can view a table of the biomes and their details over at the Dead Cells Gamepedia page here.[deadcells.gamepedia.com]

Bosses
Another one for long term beta branch players. The bosses have since been renamed, just in-case you've come back from a break and nothing makes any sense.

The Incomplete One > The Janitor > The Concierge

The Watcher > Conjunctivitus

The Assassin > The Time Keeper

The Kings Hand > The Hand of the King
Rune Achievements (x5)
There are currently 5 runes in Dead Cells that unlock permanant abilities (As of The Brutal Update). They are unlocked by killing their respective Elite Guardians.

Update Release
[1] They came from behind!
"Kill yourself with an elevator."
[2] Ohhhhhh! That hurt!
"You died with 100 cells or more... That's gotta hurt!"
[3] YOLO! Or not?
"Cheat death with a beating heart."
[4] We've all been there before...
"Do a dive attack... right into some spikes."

[1] 'They came from behind!' can be unlocked by killing yourself with an elevator. Find any elevator, drop down under it, call it, and stand directly underneath. As it hits you it will deal damage and may need to be done multiple times to kill yourself.

[2] 'Ohhhhhh! That hurt!' can be unlocked by dieing when you are holding 100 cells or greater . To do this, simply play through a run as normal, but destroy the door by The Collecter to proceed without giving him your cells. Once I got to >100, I kept giving him cells until I rounded it back off to 100 (there's no need to waste cells unecessarily).

[3] 'YOLO! Or not?' can be unlocked by activating the mutation 'Ygdar Orus Li Ox!' which abbreviates to 'Y.O.L.O playing on the phrase 'You Only Live Once'. Ironically, it brings you back to life once when you die. Simply activate it, deplete all your health, and the item will activate causing the achievement to pop.

[4] 'We've all been there before...' is unlocked by simply diving into spikes. If you don't know how to dive, hold 's' to crouch and then press space while in the air (At least on keyboard). Simply do this over spikes, and take the damage.

Update Release
[1] Slash! Slash! Roll!
"You have unlocked 10 weapons."
[1] Pimp my ride.
"You have unlocked 10 active skills."
[2] Please stand clear of the doors!
"Kill an enemy with an elevator."
[3] You are absolved of your sins child.
"Be cursed... Survive."
[4] You've got nothing, elites!
"You slayed 100 elites. Badman."
[5] Speedy Gonzales!
"Open your first timed door."
[6] See, that wasn't so hard now, was it?
"Beat your first challenge area."
[7] Through the looking glass.
"Discover your first secret area."
[8] Harder, better, faster, stronger!
"Finish your first daily challenge!"
[10] Gentleman
"Finish the first level without breaking a door."

[1] 'Slash! Slash! Roll!' and 'Pimp my ride.' can be unlocked by collecting 10 weapon and active skill blueprints, respectively. Blueprints are dropped by specific enemies throughout the game. The following guide created by Steam user @LootZ shows the locations of all blueprints.

https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=943412533

[2] 'Please stand clear of the doors! can be unlocked by killing an enemy with an elevator. Now the elevators at the end of biomes tend not to have enemies near them. So, the best thing to do is wait until you come across an elevator in the middle of a level and try and lure a flying enemy near it, like a bat. Then simply keep toggling the elevator until you smash into it and kill it.

[3] 'You are absolved of your sins child.' can be unlocked by being cursed and then killing the necessary enemies without being hit, in order to lift the curse. Curses can be obtained by opening cursed chests or by breaking down a golden door for free, that would usually require gold. I personally have only ever had to kill 10 enemies to lift the curse. However, I have heard up to 40 is possible. To make this easier, there is a mutation (Alienation?) that halves this number.

[4] 'You've got nothing, elites!' can be unlocked by killing 100 elite enemies. Elite enemies can be found in room with a large stone slab and a red symbol that glows upon entering. Simply grind away at the game until you slay 100 of them!

[5] 'Speedy Gonzales!' is unlocked by successfully reaching a timed door in time, and entering it. Timed door can be found on certain biomes such as 'The Promenade of the Condemned', 'The Ossuary', 'The Old Sewers', 'The Fog Fjord', 'The Black Bridge - Collector'.

[6] 'See, that wasn't so hard now, was it?' is unlocked by successfully completing a challenge/secret room. Challenge rooms are found by activating runes found on the floor. They will spawn a blue portal in which you can enter by interacting with it.

[7] 'Through the looking glass' is unlocked by finding a secret area during a playthrough. One of the secrets is in 'The Promenade of the Condemned' biome and can be found immediately above the spawn area. Another one is in the Prisoner's Cells. It can be found before the spawn area behind a hidden wall and contains the Quick Bow Blueprint. You can simply go back to the area if you've already uncovered the blueprint before the update.

[8] 'Harder, better, faster, stronger!' is unlocked by successfully completing a daily run. The daily run can be accessed from the main menu and you must kill the boss and finish the run to unlock the achievement.

[9] 'What? There's nothing wrong with these...' is unlocked by finishing the game (Killing The Assassin) while holding either the starter sword, bow or shield. As of the brutal update, they can be found in the starting area in The Prisoners Cells, inside wall runes.

Update Release
[1] Never Fallen
"You finished the game with 'Ygdar Orus Li Ox' in your possession!"
[2] I like to live dangerously...
"Against all odds, you finished the game with the Cursed Sword!"
[3] Up, Guards, and at them again!
"You finished the game with a Boss Source Cell injected"
[4] Finished, without fear.
"You finished the game with two Boss Source Cells injected"
[5] Harder Better Faster Stronger
"You finished the game with three Boss Source Cells injected"
[6] Let's get down to the nitty gritty...
"You finished the game with four Boss Source Cells injected"
[7] Who's a good boi?
"Finish the game without sacrificing the Mushroom Boi!"
[8] Bound for Hell
"Sacrifice the Mushroom Boi."
[9] Pact with the devil
"Appease "Mama Tick's" anger."

[1] Finish the game, by beating The Hand of the King while still having the Y.O.L.O mutation active (without dieing and being brought back to life).

[2] This is a difficult one. Do what it says on the tin. You've gotta beat the final boss, The Hand of the King to finish the game. But, you've gotta do it while holding the Cursed Sword. If you don't know, this is sword with relatively high DPS, but you die after a single hit when holding it. Fortunately, this does mean you can purchase the sword immediately before the final fight, then nuke The Hand of the King if you have the means to do so. See the below in-depth guide created by Steam user Ezergile .
http://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1257699517

[3] [4] [5] [6] These 4 achievements are unlocked for beating the game with one, two, three and four Boss Sources Cells equiped respectively. If you don't have these yet, or know what they are, see the 'Source Cell Achievements' section above. Having the cells equiped does give the bosses a higher DMG stat, so good luck!

You can innaculate your Boss Source Cells at the start of the Prisoners Cells biome below the jars.

[7] Beat Mama Tick while still having the Mushroom Boi in your possesion.

[8] The ritual can be initiated by taking the Mushroom Boi to the Morass of the Banished biome and sacrifice it to the altar. This will skip the final fight that would usually take place in the Nest.

[9] I believe this unlocked at the same time as number 8 when sacrificing the Mushroom Boi.
That's all 72 of 'em!
That's all the achievements as of 21st July 2029. As previously mentioned I will update the guide as soon as possible if more achievements are added in future updates.

Here's a link to another guide I made before-hand which shows just the 29 hidden achievements (If that's what you were after).

If you liked this guide please give it a thumbs up, otherwise please comment and let me know how I can improve it.

For 'Please stand clear of the doors!'...

Steam user Maniacaman2030 suggested;
Originally posted by Maniacman2030:
"My method for achieving the elevator one involved the Ossuary. At the top of the elevator, I lured one of the green skeleton enemies to the elevator and made it go down, where I jumped off to the side while it was going down. Luckily for me, the elevator was on a small platform, so the enemy had nowhere to go from there. Then when it stepped off on to the platform, I sent it back up.

Took me a couple tries, but I forced the enemy into a windup attack animation, the regular swing and not the pounce, after I called it down so it would delay them enough for the elevator to crush them. I laughed harder than I probably should have when the elevator crushed it and the achievement popped up."

I found an easy way to get the "Please stand clear of the doors!" achievement. What I did was get a swarm of biters and got them crushed by the elevator.

Steam user Julian said;
Originally posted by Julian:
At the end of the Promenade of the Condemned, there's another easy-ish way to get "Please stand clear of the doors!" - You can bait a Phazer into following you right up to that point. Activate the elevator, jump off, then once the Phazer is under it, call the elevator back down and just block its attacks until you have a Phazer Pancake.

For What? There's nothing wrong with these...

Steam user Silejonu confirmed that;
Originally posted by Silejonu:
"I can confirm that you indeed need to kill the Assassin to get "What? There's nothing wrong with these...". I just got it with the starter shield. Note that you get the achievement when you go through the pipe that kills you at the end of the game, not when you beat the final boss."

For I like to live dangerously...

Steam user Drake Ravenwolf said;
Originally posted by Drake Ravenwolf:
"Seems like "I like to live dangerously" should be a cake walk to get...
Just wait to buy the sword until after defeating the assassin... am I missing something?" -He confirmed that you do not get the achievement via this method.

For Do you need.... a hand?? Bahaha!...

Steam user Terminus_X said;

Originally posted by Terminus_X:
"For anyone still trying, the "Do you need a hand?" achievement can be fairly easily obtained in tandom with the "I like to live dangerously". Assuming you have at least lv2 healing potions and access to a number of weapons, merely play through a normal run, preferably going through the prison depths and the ossary to grind for extra scrolls, and stack up on either tactics or brutality. When you get to the Castle, slaughter everything in sight then collect two tonics (modifiers immaterial) and a cursed sword from the shops/drops available (randomise helps). At this stage, you should have between 20-25 of your chosen scroll and at least a cursed sword+.

Once in the fight, wait for the Hand to approach for a second, then activate your first tonic and go to town. You should be able to force him into his first enemy 'interlude' fairly quickly. Use the other tonic to kill any of the threatening enemies, find a moment to take a health potion and restock your tonics, then kill any remaining enemies and repeat. He was dead within about thirty-fourty seconds. I have a screenshot somewhere on my profile with the build I used. Hope this helps!

hello, sory but i have a question, up to the eyeballs in debt achievment? can't find it

for the success "clear your shark from the floor or I freak out" you have to be equipped with the mouth of the depths and send it to a pond (those of the first biome do the trick) as for the one "the clothes don't do not the monk" I unlocked it with the cultist outfit via the tailor in the prisoners' quarters (I got it long before I had the separation ability)

@KAIIRU, yes, 'cause without DLC you won't be abble to get to the DLC locations and bosses.

Is owning the DLC required to get the new achievements? Or can I get them all with base game?

Are you gonna update guide for the new 15 achievements? Just curious, as this guide has been my go to for my first roguelike game.
Garfield面具 24 Aug, 2021 @ 3:27am
Hey really cool guide, thank you for making it so detailed with all the screenshots too! One question: How long would you guess it takes to 100% Dead Cells (in hours)? Obviously depends on player skill but maybe based on your personal skill, how long do you think it would take.
TomPlum  [author] 21 Jul, 2020 @ 1:26pm
Have added the basic names and descriptions of the new achievements. I think there are only 10 from The Bad Seed DLC, yet my guide was missing 12. I think the other two were the perfect achievements for The Collector and The Giant? I've extracted the game assets for the pak file and will try and fill in the missing images and descriptions this week. Any info regarding the content would be useful as I haven't played it myself.
