I must say, this bears resemblance to current day themes. I applaud shows in the not to distant past for being able to cover such things. I do not wish for total isolation, I just would like those that enter to do so with the intent on partaking in our culture as well, and not in secret deceitful ways, but as is lawful.

To tell the truth this is what get's a lot of people into Star Trek, it isn't the space fights or laser fights but the characters and the philosophical dilemma presented to them...

Ironically, she turns out to be one of those very extremists she's talking about. So it then becomes an argument of character, when you realise who's making the said argument.
