Hope this helps, it certainly helped me as a kid with some of the campaign missions.
I did a standard game, made it a small map, and two random civilizations. I set my own civilizations "name" setting to computer so it's two AI civs facing each other.
With standard resource settings, the AI Galactic empire civ that it ended up on had these starting resources.
Carbon:800
Food: 750 (it might have cued a villager before I paused it)
Nova: 700
Ore: 850
