Designed by Edward Durell Stone, the Aon Center's construction began in 1970 and it opened in 1973 as the Standard Oil Building, before becoming the Amoco Building, and finally Aon Center. At 1,136 feet, it's the third tallest building in Chicago, and was the tallest in the city upon its completion before being overtaken by the Sears Tower, and then pushed to third by Trump Tower. It was originally clad in marble before issues with the marble required it to be refaced in granite at a cost of more than half the building's original cost.

This asset comes greatly detailed with a high level of accuracy where possible. It has a detailed roof and a detailed plaza with most of the features of the real building's plaza, and sits below ground level. It has detailed night lights and is a RICO compatible office. Without RICO, it's just a Level 3 Unique Building.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTES:

*THIS BUILDING DEFORMS TO LANDSCAPE near roads. Please make sure ground is flat or flatten ground before plopping.
*You may need to place roads before placing the building as there's an issue with placing roads adjacent to the building.
*The LOD texture may look terrible in some instances. This is not my fault, as my LOD model and its textures should look fine, and do in the editor and new/unbuilt cities. I do not know why this happens.
*Lot lacks concrete in crevices between building and sidewalk. Use the terrain painted mod to fill this in if desired.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Game basics:

*RICO compatible. Found under offices.
*Found in Unique Buildings, Level 3.
*9x14 lot.
*Costs $120,000 to build.
*Upkeep is $X per week.

Model stats:

*Main Model: 29,957 tris (I know. A good chunk of that is the plaza) with 2048x2048 textures.
*LOD model: 568 tris with 1024x512 textures.

Blame Edward Durell Stone for making it similar to the twin towers.

It's good that it looks like the World Trade Center building,

This has a bug in it. At night it has a light glitch were it gets really bright then starts flickering and gets really dark.

This looks great! Would you be able to do the Franklin Center in Chicago? It is the only building that is really missing in the game for my Chicago map

Nah... Don't get rid of the hyper detailed plaza. lol @TPB There are already like 2 other versions of The Aon Center that i know of, that don't have all the detail. Just no plaza, BUT you're right about the amount of polys. It is a lot. All that stuff on the plaza actually exists... @BoldyBuilding I adamire the amount of detail in this asset & love what you've done. Truly the best Model of the Aon Center so far. I appreciate when modders go out of their way to create a realistic model of an exsisting building. I prefer the extra buildings/plaza/complex/etc, instead of just the tower or main building like a lot of people do. It's just more realistic to me. Nice work. And thumbs up.
