Dual Screen trick for two players [OUTDATED]

If you wanna play with a friend on Road Redemption without splitscreen, that's actually possible, but kinda messy in the menus.
All you need is 2 screens (ofc) connected to your computer, and make the one above the other as main screen in the windows menu (google it if you need, it's easy)
Then, go to Steam, Road Redemption, and set the actual argument if you have two 1080p screens
Right click on Road Redemption > Properties > Launch Options (Thanks B Dawg for this part I forgot)

-screen-width 1920 -screen-height 2160 -popupwindow

As you will see, the game should take both your screen. However, you better know where you're going, because the only downside of that is that the menus are not really scaled, but in game, there's no problem. Been playing classic with my gf all afternoon and it worked well. Not sure for the campaign menu.

Finally some "fullscreen" multiplayer, even if it's local. I don't know if it'll work for more player, but you might have a start with that.

Was it...? Or was I full screen and 2p and 3p shared it ? I'm not sure but anyway, doesn't change much things.

@gallomimia Hello, it's been a while I haven't played the game but I don't think things has changed since they implemented the best idea ever.

If you check the options mode, you'll get a "multiple monitor" option, that will open a second window for the second player, and you'll be free to place it where you want.

I remember playing 3 players using steam screen-share, and I recall using 1 screen for me and my gf (not remotely) and dedicated the second screen to my 3rd player-friend, remotely (on a 512k ADSL and it was perfectly fine.) so 1 screen 1 player is probably nope. 2 players 2 screen is the best bet.

Not sure about the resolution problem tho. One of my screen was used to be 1080p and 2nd as 720p but maybe i used 720p on both. I'm unsure and I can't check since I have no 2nd screen nearby.

Still a great game to spend time on with friends or alone.

Great post! I hear it's possible without any hacks now? Can anyone post a link to how that goes? (My main monitor is 1440p and my other two are 1080p and hoping that will still work)

thanks, only found it out about a week ago, was trying to play DayZ while having Day of the Dead playing in a small window on the same screen lol

@Drenix I remember I have used this program on Road Redemption and it was working pretty well, I still use ontop replica for other stuff today so, good point!

Also if you have a few monitors you can use multiple controller's with 1 PC

I use a old program called on top replica its free now.
You can copy any exe or browser you got open, then crop it the way you want and size it, sort of like picture in picture mode, or you can move that onto another screen.
You can use it for other games too...

Indeed, and it's really a good thing!
It's outdated now, but I'll leave it posted in case someone want to do that on earlier versions.
