This Encounter card has a Token icon on it.

If the Player finds this Encounter during a run and ‘defeats’ it (through combat, a Chance card event, paying resources, etc) then they will earn the token.

Tokens unlock new Equipment, Encounter and / or Gain cards to the player’s Stockpile.

Tokens are opened when the player defeats the Court Card or is defeated.

Tokens are never lost, even if the player is defeated.

Tokens are unique and each can only be won once.

Each Token contains specific cards, not a random selection.

Some Tokens remove the Encounter card which awarded them from the player's stockpile entirely. The card will then no longer appear in Story or Endless mode.

This card is marked as ‘New’ and the description will be hidden until the player has discovered it during a run.

This card is locked into the player’s deck until a specific Token has been earned.

This Encounter card belongs to the ‘Murder at Sea’ DLC. The Token icon is also unique to that DLC, although it functions like a normal Token.

Each Court card has specific cards that it adds to the relevant decks at the beginning of a run as part of its challenge.

These Monster Cards show that the suit of Dust has received 2 of 3 upgrades.

Monster and Player upgrades both occur when Dealer Relics (at the end of each row in the Court Card cabinet) are earned. Some Fates also activate suit upgrades.

Some Fates bring their own cards along, which are added to the relevant decks at the beginning of a run.
