"The Liset shook as it always had, breaching the atmosphere. Strider sat patiently in the observatory of the small and sleek ship; watching the heat rage against the hull. A scene played out hundreds... no... thousands? He could not count how many times he had seen this scene before. Curiosity piques within him, and he raises comms with his fellow Crimson Sun allies... Friends.
"Entry report?"
"Good."
"Good."
The Loki's hand flutters over the holographic panel, he was still curious...
"How is your arm?"
There is no answer; not for a long while. And the answer is far from desired. Grineer flak cannons open up and he knows his men are already dispersing into evasive maneuvers and activating detection countermeasures. But he falls late.
For a brief moment, he glimpses the surface of the planet through the one-way metal panels of the Liset; a sandy planet that roars with dust storms and burns with the passionate star of the system.

Then it vanishes. Struck by a flak round, Ordis bleats reports about damage, how he is trying to find a suitable location to land. The Loki within rises quietly and heads into the rear compartment of the Liset where fire rages from the foundry compartment of the ship. He looks to his Kubrow that watches just as calmly through the unparalleled disaster. Lotus now chimes into the chaotic noise as the Warframe retrieves his weaponry.
One last glimpse to his Kubrow, Fenrir, and the world overloads his sensors and he automatically diverts all his power to self-sustaining life support and shields...

... His world comes to him in idle flickers, displays slowly coming to the fore. Then reality strikes him, literally, as a fire. His world is nothing but that raging tonic of nature's fury towards technological progression. The Loki feels his frame searing and melting; he swiftly begins to leave the burning wreckage of his Liset before something makes him pause barely a meter away from the furious fire.
Fenrir lay, impaled twice... He feels a strange pang within himself. As though a distant chime struck a noise in a lost wind upon a battlefield.
The Loki stares, and the Lotus is doing her best to remain calm; he does not hear her anymore. Ordis mewls for recovery; the blackbox at the head of the Liset. But The Loki stumbles forward, to the dying Fenrir and holds out his hand; trying to activate the natural life-support dump to recouperate the wounded and loyal beast. But no green gaseous fog exudes from his palm.

He tries again, but the automatic systems in place cannot divert the power... He tries to manually override; to no avail, perhaps he is simply too far? He falls to his knees respectively, and awkwardly shifts his hand over the entirety of the white-furred Kubrow.
Feeble cries of children echo in his head, then the cries of the masters, strangely evolving into cheers. He feels an old blade in his hand as he ends a creature of infestation, then he feels pride as a being of unparalleled purity gives him a frame of conscious. And it all falls to the cries of children once more...

Basically; I had become just... stupid attatched to my Kubrow. It was a Huras Kubrow and I had named it Fenrir because I felt it was a fitting name for my Loki frame; then I had to abruptly move, and it took an extensive amount of time.
I had not put Fenrir back into his stasis chamber, and when I finally recieved a modicum of a stable life; I returned to a message from The Lotus stating that Fenrir had perished due to DNA destablization.

I had not thought I would ever feel like crying over an MMO, but I did fall to a few tears then.
I haven't gotten another Kubrow since. His anniversary is in two months.
