Hello everyone, how are you? In this guide I will tell you how to play Engineer in competitive or in a normal game.

The mission of the Engineer :

What is a team without Engineer? The Engineer is very usefull for 3 reasons :

- Sentry => damages + super effective to defend
- Dispenser => healing + ammo
- Teleporter => to teleport maybe

The Engineer is very very usefull in defend thanks to his sentry. If you are defending, place your sentry next to the point you want to defend to avoid backcap (when an enemy player is caping the point behind your team).

Now that you know the role of the Engineer, which loadout do you have to use?

First loadout :

Main : Shotgun / Rescue Ranger
Secondary : Wrangler
Melee : Wrench / Southern Hospitality / Jag

This loadout is used to defend or to attack. The Rescue Ranger permits to repair your sentry when you are out of metal or for others reasons. The Wrangler gives a shield to your sentry and permits to shoot people when they are too far away.
In competitive there is no critical hit, so use the Southern Hospitality instead of the Wrench (in competitive).

Second loadout :

Main : Shotgun / Frontier Justice
Secondary : All
Melee : Gunslinger

This loadout is just valable in attack or in defend for some rare maps.

Third loadout :

Main : Widowmaker
Secondary : Pistol / Wrangler
Melee : Gunslinger
