There are only a few loadouts that comp highlander (9 v 9) pyros should use unless they have an extremely good reason to do otherwise in certain situations:
Primary:
Degreaser (you need to have plenty of airblasts available to protect your teammates, and the stock flamethrower reduces the versatility of your secondary attacks)
Secondary:
Shotgun (great for maps with lots of tight spaces where long range damage is less important) Flare gun (great for pyros with top notch flare aim)
Scorch shot (the easiest tool available for lighting enemies on fire at very long ranges)
Detonator (can be used when extra mobility is a primary concern)
Melee:
Powerjack (should be used in the vast majority of situations)
Homewrecker (can be used when your only focus is babysitting an engineer, especially on the last point)
