SS2 Modding Guide
By Bethlemos
I was quite surprised that there is no specific guide on steam on how to patch and or mod System Shock 2 to modern standards as well as to upgrade it to the community's wishes.
Therefore, I'm not providing a full guide here but listing the source of the basic modding guide as well as the mods:

- SS2 Newbie Modding Guide:
https://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=4447
- Files, mods, fan missions can all be found in the files archive:
https://www.systemshock.org/index.php

Enjoy.

Additional info
I strongly reommend following the modding guide (see link above). Always start with:
1.) Download and install SS2 Tool [current version: SS2Tool-v.6.1.0.7]
I recommend to do so by copying your System Shock 2 folder out of the steam directory and do the installation outside of your "Program Files" folder.

PS:
There is a communinty made mod / "sequel" to SS2 called System Shock Inifinite 2.0
https://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=6277.0

PPS:
FYI - there is also a System Shock download available which makes the original title run on modern systems:

Hey what's the name of that mod that makes the game more "accesible"?
I've been playing modern titles for a long time and so it's pretty hard to get gud at this game but I heard about a mod like this that would be a big help for me.

got a fix for when I try to join my friend it crashes (same mods and all) and when i try to host it does not show any ip address. I followed the mod guide and I used to play this game alot in the past just would love to enjoy it with some friends

Was sad to see the TACTICOOL mod does not actually replace any models :( oh well

It's worth mentioning here that when you open Blue Tool, it deletes the original MOD folder, and creates DMM, so, if you're like me, and you unpacked ALL your mods into the old folder, only to have it deleted when you open Blue Tool, do yourself a favor, and open Blue Tool BEFORE you unpack your MODs. @CRB82: It can be quite confusing at first how the modding works for this - I will give some additional info for first time users as I know which problems I faced myself
