Juu, pidän tätä lähinnä tälläsenä harjoitustyönä johon sitten voi palata jos haluaa kokeilla jotain uutta. Ei tähän oikeen enää kauhean paljon kannata aikaa tuhlata kun voisi aloittaa jo uuden projektin tästä opittujen asioiden avulla.

joo.

Those are the 2 most crucial things to learn to make an aesthetic map that works. It's just like you said that it's fast to learn those tools and basic stuff... but planning to make an environment that looks real and fascinating and yet.. it has to work in game also. To get some ideas how to make good map for some game you have to play it very much first or at least know the game from beginner stuff to pro things.. I see you have played csgo for a while and I guess you have learned the idea of the game by now but you can never know it too well. One thing that helped me to plan layouts was this http://www.worldofleveldesign.com/categories/cat_csgo.php
And especially those layout tutorials.

Feel free to add as friend if you ever need advice or something.:csgogun:

Was looking at his videos whilst making this map and got some help from there. I'm a pretty fast learner so it's really easy for me to get into a new thing. So I already know most of the basic stuff you can do with hammer and have been doing some little tests with an aim map etc. but now I wanted to try doing a whole defusal map. I think I can do a fairly good job when it comes to making a basic map but from a gameplay standpoint I'm a total noob. And even when it comes to making the map look pretty I have no idea how to do any of the really nice looking background stuff or making stuff not look so cubed. But thanks for your feedback totally going to look into his tutorials a little more before my next project.

You should learn your way with the texturing tool. It also looks a bit empty from the screens. Creating a detonation map as a beginner is often a not very rewarding task whilst creating simple aim maps or deathmatch maps often is more rewarding as the level are quite smaller and easier to overlook and to detail without having to look at other aspects like rushtimes or optimization.
Don't get me wrong, it's a nice thing you got into mapping, but I think you chosen the hardest way to start.
