Introduction

This guide will give you information on the 2015 New Bloom Festival. The 2015 New Bloom Festival is playable starting February 13th.

New Bloom Festival 2015

Countdown

The Year Beast Brawl is playable at random intervals during the day. There will be a one and a half hour countdown that indicates the events imminent arrival. Once the countdown reaches zero you'll have a short window of time to queue for the event before it becomes dormant again.

You can view if the Year Beast event is dormant or active on the Year Beast tracker website[dota2.cyborgmatt.com] which community member Cyborgmatt put together.

The Year Beast Brawl

The Year Beast Brawl is the same as a regular game of All Pick Dota 2 with one difference, Year Beasts. During a Year Beast Brawl two Year Beasts will spawn to fight for each team. These beasts have a range of abilities that can be used and leveled up during the game to strengthen your teams chance of winning.

At the start of the game a box will appear on your screen asking you to allocate an upgrade to your teams Year Beast. There are several paths you can choose, all of which bolster your Year Beasts passives abilities. You can also level up your upgrade by spending 5000 ability points for level 2, and 10,000 ability points for level 3.

Combat Path[/th]
Multiple instances of Combat Path have independant chances to proc Bash, and independent cooldowns for Beserker's Call, SPiked Carapace, and Greater Hex.

Level 1 - Bash
The Beast gains a 12% chance to stun attacked enemies for 1 second.
Level 2 - Spiked Carapace
If 2 or more heroes are within 500 range of the Beast, the Beast will stun and reflect damage if attacked.
Level 2 - Beserker's Call
If there are 2 or more heroes within 300 range of the Beast, they will-be forced to attack it for 2.5 seconds.
Level 3 - Greater Hex
The Beast unleashes a magical smoke that expands outward in a 1000 radius, turning enemy units into harmless pigs for 4 seconds.

Support Path[/th]
Multiple instances of Support Path have independent cooldowns for Arcane Boots, Mek, and Resurrection Aura.

Level 1 - Healing Aura
Heals 10 HP every 2 seconds in a 1100 area of effect around the Beast.
Level 2 - Truesight
Grants truesight in a 1100 radius. The Beast will use Mekansm and Arcane Boots every 35 seconds in a 750 radius.
Level 2 - Smoke Aura
While standing near the Beast, heroes are smoked.
Level 3 - Resurrection Aura
If a hero dies in an 1100 radius of the Beast, it will be resurrected after 3 seconds. This effect can only happen once every 20 seconds.

Speed Path[/th]
Multiple instances of Speed Path have independent cooldowns for Stampede, and independent chances to proc Refresher Aura.

Level 1 - Attack Speed Aura
Allied units gain 30 attack speed in a 900 radius around the Beast.
Level 2 - Stampede
If there are 2 or more enemy Heroes within 500 range of the Year Beast, it causes a Stampede, and all friendly units gain haste and phase for 3 seconds.
Level 3 - Refresher Aura
When an allied hero casts a spell within 900 range of the Beast, that spell has a 50% chance to be instantly refreshed.

The Year Beast Brawl Continued

Once your teams Year Beast has spawned it will charge down a lane just like a regular creep until yourself or a team member tells it to do otherwise. If your Year Beast is killed during the brawl it will re spawn after a few minutes.

The Year Beast has six abilities that it can use, all of which cost ability points. Ability points can be gained by purchasing them on the Dota 2 store directly, winning Year Beast Brawls, purchasing the new Crystal Maiden arcana set, or by winning regular matches of Dota 2 while someone who owns the Crystal Maiden arcana is in the game. There is also a global daily modifier to ability points.

Be sure to use all of your ability points during a brawl, they are personal and reset after each match.

Attack Target

50 Ability Points

Causes the beast to attack what was selected. Grants Haste to the Year Beast for a short duration.

Heal

50 Ability Points

Heals a percentage of the Year Beast's health instantly.

Teleport

50 Ability Points

Causes the Year Beast to Teleport to or near the targeted location. Teleports to Creeps or the closest Building.

Double Damage

50 Ability Points

Doubles the Year Beast's damage for a short time.

Thundergod's Wrath

750 Ability Points

Strikes all enemy heroes with a bolt of lightning, no matter where they may be. Thundergod's Wrath also provides True Sight around each hero struck. If an enemy hero is invisible, it takes no damage, but the True Sight is still created at that hero's location.

Global Silence

750 Ability Points

The Year Beast stops all sound, preventing enemy heroes and units on the map from casting spells.

Hand of God

750 Ability Points

Fully regenerates the Year Beast and heals all allied heroes on the map.

Global Chakra

750 Ability Points

Replenishes the mana of all allied heroes on the map and the Year Beast.

The team which destroys the enemy ancient at the end of the game wins the brawl. The winning team will be awarded with a trophy for their trophy showcase along with an item reward.

Milestone Rewards

There are several milestone rewards that can be earned during the 2015 New Bloom Festival.

Ancient Rhythms loading screen:
Win 1 Year Beast Brawl and you'll earn the Ancient Rhythms loading screen.

Redhorn courier
Winning 3 Year Beast Brawls will earn you the Redhorn courier.

Jadehorn courier:
Winning 10 Year Beast Brawls will earn you the Jadehorn courier.

Goldhorn courier:
Increase your Ability Points pool to 8,000 and you'll earn the elusive Goldhorn courier.

Item Recycling

During New Bloom 2015 you're able to recycle items to earn additional ability points. For every ten items you recycle you'll earn 50 ability points along with a "Charm of the Crucible Jewel".

The "Charm of the Crucible Jewel" allows you to make match predictions at the start of your Dota 2 games. If you successfully predict three victories in a row you'll earn an item set as a reward.

For all those who are interested, here is a small JavaScript piece of code which will redirect you once the timer is 0:00:00 to a youtube link to let you know the event is starting:
