Because of not having the video resolution option to 1920x1080, you must access the configuration file in the game folder and change a few lines of script.

1. Open your game for the first time to create the necessary files to configure the resolution (thanks Nightbreed for the reminder).
   
   
2. Open the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Prey\base. (default path, may vary due to installation)
   
   
3. Open the file preyconfig.cfg with a text editor, preferably Notepad: (before this, make a backup of this file in case something goes wrong)
   
   • Double-click the file, select the option Select a program from a list of installed programs.
     
   • In the new window, select Notepad and click OK. (preferably uncheck “Always use the selected program to open this kind of file”)
   
   
4. Press Ctrl + F to search the following command lines:
   
   seta r_customHeight
   seta r_customWidth
   seta r_mode
   
   
5. Change the default values of each variable to these:
   
   seta r_customHeight "1080"
   seta r_customWidth "1920"
   seta r_mode "-1"
   
   
6. Save (Ctrl + S) and close the document.

When you open the game, the resolution 1920x1080 is already applied. In the Video menu, the resolution will appear incorrectly as 640x480. Do not change this value, or will have to redo all this procedure.
