We will be using command prompt to add a rule on windows defender firewall. We will be using programs that already come with windows so you will not need to download anything! In this tutorial we will be blocking the connection to the dedi servers so you won't keep joining them again! You can disable the rule or delete it anytime you like if you decide to change your mind, I will show you how to do that in this guide.

Open command prompt as admin and copy, paste this text and press enter.

This will add a rule to windows defender firewall and block all connections to the dedi servers ip. If you would like to see the rule open up a program called "windows defender firewall with advanced security." On "inbound rules" and "outbound rules" you will notice a rule named "!BLOCK MW2 DEDI SERVERS," this is the rule we have added. Here you can disable the rule or delete it if you would like to do so.

The dedi servers have their own website that shows all of their servers on mw2 (dedigamerdotcom).



To test and see if it worked make sure you have mw2 multiplayer running and click on any of the dedi servers on their website to join their servers. After clicking on one of their servers you will notice on mw2 that it will attempt to connect to the server but won't. This means that you are now blocked from joining all dedi servers!! :)

If you are still able to connect to the dedi servers this likely means either you did it wrong or the dedi servers ip have changed. This is most likely the case as the dedi servers are on a dynamic ip and are not static. In the next section I will show you how you can find the dedi servers ip so you can check to see if they have changed or not. Also note if I am still actively playing mw2 then I will post the updated ip of the dedi servers in the comments if they have been changed so you won't have to do the next step, If you don't see any updated comments from me and you're still able to join the dedi servers then use the next section to find their new ip. I will also drop in the comments the ip addresses of any modded lobbies that I have encountered.

This part of the section is only for people that are still able to join the dedi servers after following the guide and have not received the new updated ip from me in the comments.

Open up a program called "resource monitor." This program is included with windows. Next join one of the empty dedi servers. Back on "resource monitor" click on "network" and have "processes with network activity" and "network activity" expanded. On "processes with network activity" make sure you have "iw4mp.exe" checked off, doing this will also have "image" checked off and that's okay. Next go to the "network activity" section. You will see multiple "iw4mp.exe" with different ip addresses and each having a different amount of "B/sec." You will want to look for the "B/sec" with the highest "send" value and see what the ip for it is. This is the ip of the dedi servers.



Now that you have the new ip from the dedi servers you will want to copy that number and replace it with the the old ip next to "Remoteip=" on command prompt like this.

Sometimes on resource monitor the host's ip won't be revealed, it will sometimes show text or they will be missing or have extra numbers. In this section I will show you how you can uncover their 4 number ip address if it is hidden on resource monitor.



Again you need to be ingame of the modded lobby to be able to get the hosts ip. Go to the "resource monitor" program and copy the ip address with the highest send "B/sec." Next go to command prompt and type "ping" and paste the ip address here and press enter. This will reveal the 4 number ip address.



Now copy the ip and paste it next to "Remoteip=" on command prompt like this.

And that is it for this guide. Eventually after adding multiple modded lobbies to your firewall you will only run into legit non hacked games :) I will also post in the comments the new ip of the dedi servers if they have been changed and also any other modded lobbies that I have run into in the comments. If i'm not active you can use the previous 2 sections to find out the ip for dedi servers or modded lobbies.

I don't like playing on the dedi servers because I have really bad ping on them and also after the match ends it goes straight to the next map and doesn't take us back to the pre game lobby, and of course no one wants to play with cheaters or snd lobbies :/
