Shani
By 威哥佛特呲
Shani is a renowned surgeon and the head of the Department of Medicine at Niubao College. She graduated from the Department of Medicine at Niubao College and is an alumnus of the famous troubadour Dandrian. When she was still in school, she met the famous demon hunter Geralt through Dandelion and helped Geralt track down Rines. In March 1268, during the decisive Battle of Brenner in the Second Northern War, Shani worked with half body doctor Milo van der Bek in the frontline field hospital of the Northern Alliance.
The frontline hospital work during the Battle of Brenner had a huge impact on Shani's life, partly due to the deaths of her three colleagues in the years following the end of the campaign. When Shani was teaching, she often quoted Milo van der Beek's words, "Sew the red and the red, the yellow and the yellow, and the white and the white, so it won't be wrong." This sentence has also been passed down orally by surgeons from the medical school of Niubao University in later generations.
Later, Xia Ni was appointed as the dean of the School of Medicine at Niubao University and was admired by both teachers and students before and after retirement. Shani passed away in 1340.
In the traditional Chinese version of the novel, her name is translated as "Shani".
In the game
In the "The Witcher" series of games produced by CD Projekt, Shani is one of the first female leads in "The Witcher" and works in the capital city of Vegema, Timoria. At the end of the story, Shani received an appointment letter from Niubao College. She left Virgima and Geralt to work as a faculty member at Niubao University School of Medicine. Although Shani did not appear in the main characters of The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3, she played the leading role in the expansion pack "Hearts of the Stone" for The Witcher 3. At the end of 'Heart of Stone', Shani leaves Niubao Academy and rushes to the front line again.
Five years after the end of the Second Nevergard War, Shani went to the capital of Timoria, Vegema, to support medical work there. On the outskirts of Vegema, she once again encountered Geralt, who was following the trail of the Fire Lizard Gang. Later, the red haired female doctor competed with Trish Merigold for Geralt's heart there. Regardless of the outcome, her romance with Geralt was as bright and brief as flames. Although Shani is a very young woman, she has proven to be more mature than Geralt, who always finds relationships between men and women complicated and difficult to understand. Geralt avoided his responsibility towards her and preferred to pursue the task entrusted to him by King Fuerteste. This doctor recognizes that this relationship will not have any outcome. After a serious discussion with Geralt, she calmly broke up. Shani took on her next teaching job at Osenford College and left Vegema, while Geralt followed Fuertest to the leadership of La Vareida
