Nimbus is a large grid, multi-role, frigate. This is the oldest ship in my fleet by a substantial margin, being essentially my first large grid ship (though she has seen extensive modification over the years).

This particular hull was originally built in 2015 (10 years old to the day as of writing this), then later upgraded to the flight 2 version with super-firing turrets before being acquired by yours truly. The Hydra class corvette is literally the second most popular ship of all time, in the early days of space engineers these would be a common sight in the universe.

Lore/History

This ship has been built in multiple survival worlds both single/multi-player and has seen extensive modifications throughout her tenure. Serving originally as a patrol corvette: cutting her teeth on small grid drones and fighters, Nimbus really came into her own later on in non-combat roles like trading, touring, exploration and hosting diplomatic missions. This push away from active combat roles has greatly improved the longevity of the ship, Nimbus being the only ship to maintain active duty status within my fleet through the paradigm shift that was the Warfare 2 update.

Over the years of retrofits the tonnage has grown by >25% and the ship has become planet/jump capable to become a true "blue water" asset. Though her planetary endurance is questionable, it is advised to only fly for brief periods when in a gravity well due to lack of H2 storage, though if one is having a "Krabbiew moment" there are emergency parachutes.
