Please use this guide only as a last resort, as finding all the stuff on your own is way more fun and satisfying than following a guide.

You need to collect all 25 coins AND you need all 8 crowns before the cave will open. Leaving the portal world before completion will reset it, so don't leave the exit by the penguin or you'll have to restart.

25 Coins Secret

Behind the mountain on the side of the map, the frozen cave near a dead penguin opens up when you collect all 25 coins and 8 crowns. Inside is the cosmetic reward for collecting everything.
